Not to be a buzzkill...but aren't we really putting the cart before the horse? There's an awful lot of prep work happening on the 4th when the 3rd isn't even released. Speaking for myself, I don't have anything left to write for the 3rd Doctor book. So starting on the 4th is setting us up with a head start on it and doesn't have any impact on the 3rd. I'm sure Siskoid can provide an update on the 3rd sourcebook itself. |

Was just concerned. Last update I remember seeing on the Third sourcebook was that it would be out before the end of the month...
...the month of January, that is. Being as it's almost the end of February, well, insert concern here.

We're not. I'm working on both at the same time. I'm waiting on a few stragglers for 3rd so I can finish the lay-out, it's almost done. While we wait, I'm more than comfortable collecting entries for 4th so the first draft will have a lot of stuff already done.

I'll be moving on to my next batch of books later this week. I've earmarked the following (with an idea of what I'm likely to cover from each):
Asylum - Roger Bacon, Location/Oxford 1278
Psi-ence Fiction - Josh Randall, The Kellerfield Research Foundation (probably for the Villains section, rather than a Location)
Wolfsbane - Emmeline Neuberger (with a sidebar on werewolves in Doctor Who), Lady Hester Stanton, Gadget/The Holy Grail (the dryads can be left for the 8th Doctor book, as I think he has more interaction with them than the 4th Doctor)
Festival of Death - The Repulsion, Arboretans, Location/The G-Lock, Gadget/The Beautiful Death

Is there a view as to which of the sourcebooks should include the Eminence and his Infinite Warriors?
The nominations are: the 4th Doctor (the Eminence's first appearance from the Doctor's POV, in Destroy the Infinite); the 6th Doctor (its first appearance from the listeners' POV, in The Seeds of War); and the 8th Doctor audios (various encounters, including its origin story, in Dark Eyes 2, 3 and 4).
Sounds like the 8th Doctor to me, now that I've written it down, but thought I'd check.

By the way, all would-be submitters should take a look at the submission guidelines elsewhere on this forum. Getting entries in the correct format saves heaps of time. Link, please? I think I can take both Ghosts of Gralstead and The Devil's Armada. Between those and the already-submitted pair from Justice at Jalxar, I'd feel like I'd actually done something. I'd never formally committed, but yeah, I'll commit. The Third Doctor Expanded Universe Sourcebook is just too wonderful; I want to be a part of the Fourth's, even if only in a small way. |

While J&L's series would be in the proposed spin-offs book, they have one extracanonical adventure that's covered in this book: The Justice of Jalxar. A note about future adventures would be included, but kept vague (that they worked together on various paranormal cases, met the 8th Doctor, and Leela, etc. without going into details). Take PROBE's Liz Shaw as an example (3rd book). PROBE will likely be in the spin-off book, so it's more about talking about Liz at that stage of her career than detailing anything in the PROBE videos.

Well based on an unscientific count (I dumped the list from the Reference Guide) there are: 169 First Doctor Adventures 168 Second Doctor Adventures 190 Third Doctor Adventures 244 Fourth Doctor Adventures 184 Fifth Doctor Adventures 184 Sixth Doctor Adventures 257 Seventh Doctor Adventures 232 Eighth Doctor Adventures so it's not surprising that his book is longer. |
