As I mentioned in the Dragonmeet thread, I've been wondering is C7 will be allowed to use any of the classic Who series monsters and aliens in future supplements. As I'm also sure that the BBC will not allow them to make any sort of official statement on the matter, I'll open it up to the Forum Folk... When you run your campaign, what Classic Series villains/monsters/aliens will you be using? For my part, my adventure seeds include The War Lords, The Mechanoids, Sea Devils, The Wirrn, and the Fendahl, among others. New series visitors will include The Forest of Cheem and Sister of Mine.

Outside of the true classics, such as daleks and cybermen, the one name that springs to mind is: ZYGONS!Oh... and The Celestial Toymaker... and maybe The Meddling Monk...

YES, the Sea Devils & Zygons would be awesome! Not to mention the Black Guardian, Draconians, Silurians, and the Great Vampires from Gallifreyan legend.

I have to admit, I like Zygons, but whenever I try to think of a scenario for them, I draw a blank.

What, no love for The Ice Warriors? I have much love for the Ice Warriors... I just can't use them as villains. They don't have to be villains. Remember, by the time the third Doctor encounters them on Peladon they're Earth's allies. Thanks to the wonders of time travel you can meet them in 'bad guy' era or 'ally' era ... heck, perhaps (much like Yesterday's Enterprise) the players are in some way involved in the Ice Warrior's becoming Earth's allies ...

Oh, I've considered it. But if there is ONE alien species I would want to do justice to in a scenario, its the Ice Warriors. I would really want to come up with something thats just... perfect.

Definitely the Fendahl. I have an adventure called "The Shadows of Vesta" that I wrote up for Time Lord, never ran it. I later intended to rewrite it for Cthulhu Rising but never got around to it. Hmmm, now that I write that, it just occurred to me that it might be too similar to Waters of Mars. D'oh!
Other than that, I've had a story in mind about the Tharils (and their mysterious advisor!) for ages and ages.

Ogrons and Seadevils for me, for me the Ogrons were the real Klingons before the real Klingons existed! PS. i forgot to add the Draconians!

I've got a soft spot for the Nimon, as they're the first Doctor Who monster I can properly remember watching on telly :-)

The Sea Devils and possibly the Ice Warriors. Of course, I've only seen one serial involving the former, and heard one BF audioplay with the latter, so I'd need more data before deciding to go with them.

I think the ice warriors will turn up in the show eventully tbh since there one of the most requested of the old monsters thats not been revived yet(plus i think the mention of them in waters of mars is a hint).
My top monster(s) for redo are probably gonna be lesser monsters or badguys from the old series thats not likely to get a chance at a new look on the show...not sure which of the many to choose atm though but the fifth anf sixth doctors had a fair number of popular at the time but never used since monsters so im gonna start there...im also gonna find a way to get sabilom glitz into a story coz he's a badass in need of a new mission.

I can't exactly say that I've ever hear Glitz called that... I've heard him called a lot of other things, though. Lesser monsters are always good, especially if you can redo them in a fascinating way. Which is why my Mechanoids story came about... Perhaps I'll post that in the story seeds thread.

The Spiders from 'Planet of the Spiders' Also the Patrick Troughton era Cybermen. Far more sinester than the brainless "Delete!" bell-bottoms drones or the Darth Vader 80s Cybermen. I love the NuWho but I think the NuCybermen were a mistake.

I agree. The Mondas Cybermen at least had some intelligence to them and were able to make alliances and broker deals. While I'll thank RTD for bringing back Doctor Who, his writing is leaves a lot to be desired. He is inconsistant with how he treats canan. Sometimes he works it in well, other times he stomps all over canan, even with his own material. I'd much rather see the Mondas Cybermen over his brain-dead version.
I'd like to bring back the Master (a real one as opposed to whatever that was that Simms played) and the Rani. The Silurians / Sea Devils would be fun. So would the Movellans.

What ever happened to the Draconian empire, it just disapeared? Earth reptiles (Silurians / Sea Devils), Non-Time War Daleks. What did happen in the Dalek-Movellan war?

Sontarans, and probably their known worst enemy, the Rutans.
Possibly the Krotons as well.

Sontarans, and probably their known worst enemy, the Rutans. Possibly the Krotons as well. No need to 'bring back' the Sontarans. They're on pages 107-108 of the GM guide They're mentioned as having been at war with the Rutans for 50,000 years ... with at least another 20,000 to go! That's a heckuva lot of war!

So many adversaries... Love the ideas put up so far but one I will use is.... THE YETI Also I do like the idea of the PCs landing in the middle of a Movellan & Dalek battle As for the Yeti... Will prob use "Him" (?) in a victorian setting. Probably throw in the Osirians (spelling ?) from Pyramids of Mars somewhere - Sutekh wasn't the last......

For more Osirians than you can shake an ankh at, check out Magic Bullet's Faction Paradox series (A True History of Faction Paradox, comprised of 'Coming to Dust', 'The Ship of a Billion Years', 'Body Politic', 'Words of Nine Divinities', 'Ozymandias', and 'The Judgement of Sutekh.') which heavily involves the Osirian Court, and exactly how Sutekh came to be in the position he was in at the beginning of Pyramids of Mars. He is voiced by his original portrayer, Gabriel Woolf, and is all silky voiced evil...

I've always wanted to run a Earth/Mars adventure featuring the Ice Warriors and the Silurians/Sea Devils. Since neither species is inherently evil, the big bad would actually be an Osirian named Sobek. He's the crocodile god of the Nile in Egyptian mythology. I figure he could be manipulating both the Ice Warriors and the Silurians/Sea Devils since they are both reptilian.

I love the NuWho but I think the NuCybermen were a mistake. I would love to see the return of the "classic" Cybermen. Amen! I miss them. As far as continuity goes, they should still be out there somewhere. A Mondasian Cyberman head was in Van Statten's collection.
