1: The Galactic Federation that was established in both Peladon serials. This setting I can imagine if your player characters decide to visit or stay within this period of time would probably take a lot of inspiration from Star Trek. Your players may decide to join onboard of a Galactic Federation spacecraft and work with the captain exploring new worlds (filled with aliens from the TV show and expanded universe of Doctor Who) or perhaps even they are the crew themselves in a campaign themed around that. They could go on away missions down to planets and meet new or familiar aliens and civilisations, whilst also doing scenarios set in the GF itself involving political intrigue. Peladon can make an apperance here and there though. I like the idea of a series of adventures for a TARDIS team set at various points in the life of the Galactic Federation, including at the time of its inception in the 34th Century, at the heoght of its influence in the latter half of the Fourth Millennium, during the wars against Galaxy 5 or the Orion Androis, and in the period following the 41st Century war against the Daleks, when it had become a dictatorship ruled by Mavic Chen's descendants. The Expanded Universe provides much of this history and greatly expands the Federation's membership from the handful of species we saw in the Peladon stories. I would like that as well, but to me a series of adventures ser in the height of the Galactic Federation involving player characters from that time period would be cool. It would be close to Star Trek yes but can still include familiar doctor who elements in it as well. Its something I wish the new series would have returned to not gunna lie. I mean we did get an Alpha Centauri cameo so that is good.

I'm very fond of teh Federation period, around the 5000±250 period, with Greel, World War VI and the Time Agency, so I developed a background for it, including a mostly isolated and odd Earth.

I am quite shocked actually that Big Finish or the novels/comics etc have not touched these characters but they would be amazing to encounter. I am talking about Control, Redvers Fenn-Cooper and Nimrod from Ghost-Light. If I can recall they took Light's ship and now began to explore the universe. Even looking on TARDIS wiki it give little information about them and only what is told within the serial. They would be an interesting team to flesh out and encounter really or be played by actually. Its not everday you get to see a Neanderthal Butler after all!

Such a group strikes me as the sort who’d journey into bizarre alien dimensions with weird Euclidean landscapes and beings to boot.

tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Torchwood_FourI think revisiting just what exactly happened to Torchwood Four could make for the basis of a fun adventure. Just what was the reason behind its sudden disappearance? Jack certainly seemed to be under the impression “it’ll turn up, one of these days” I also think it would be interesting to explore just why all the information about this branch and its personnel was classified. Could it have something to do with Bilis Manger? Perhaps they were experimenting with something which lead to their disappearance or inadvertently drawn the attention of something else?

tardis.fandom.com/wiki/ShakriI always thought there was lost potential in the idea of the Shakri and what exactly the Tally was. Personally, I like the idea that The Tally never in fact ever existed. All this time, The Shakri are merely following the psychopathic doctrine of a fictional bogeyman.

Yes, obviously, we need to see more of the character and her story first, but it's definitely a possible option.

I think you could probably revisit the character of Chloé Webber from Fear Her. Perhaps when the Isolus left her, it left some traces of itself in her mind. Even if it just meant she possessed a great deal of artistic ability when she was older.
Personally, I’m just surprised Torchwood or some other investigatory group didn’t investigate why a great many children seem to vanish on this street alone.

Typical bureaucratical incompetence? Friendly greetings, Horus Lupercal. Sounds like it. Or the case was put aside for the time being to prioritise on more important cases. As well as the Fear Her incident in 2012, it does make you wonder why the likes of Torchwood never investigated the Empty Child Plague during the Second World War or the Faceless People during 1953. Considering how rapidly the infection was spreading, the former is even more surprising. Which would make for a different type of campaign. An investigatory group working in the background of certain televised episodes. Would have to rewrite them to give the PCs more agency, however.

Even if it just meant she possessed a great deal of artistic ability when she was older. Personally, I’m just surprised Torchwood or some other investigatory group didn’t investigate why a great many children seem to vanish on this street alone. Oh that's a nice idea. I'd completely forgotten about Chloe. A few ideas:
1. She'd be 22/3 today, probably at art college or just graduated. So, new British artistic prodigy, design company drone or the ever stereotyped starving artist? All have potential. Might (for example) the residual power of the Isolus lend her work a special quality, meaning that the ad campaign she illustrates/records is unusually successful.
- While it's rather dated, pushing a century old, I recommend Murder Must Advertise for shenanigans in an ad company. OK it's changed a lot but the fundamentals are still there. Whiffle away.
- This would probably be a good case for the Misfit Mob; infiltrate a trendy new advertising agency who may be being used as the front for an alien infiltration. Or just had had a series of rather odd murders (in the latter case I'd have Chloe's SO as the guilty party, using her powers to get ahead in the company).
2. Is she still a pencil artist, or has she moved to oils or videography?
3. Does she know that she retains some of her powers? Can she still use them, albeit with much more effort now (oooh, an excuse to drop a 'magic' ritual into the game! Dust off the old CoC books). Is there a string of missing people in her past?
4. Then, for the more Lovecraftian option, there's the idea that her drawings/paintings can create portals to....elsewhere. So in the aftermath of her wildly successful graduation show, and the subsequent exhibition of a series of alien, historical and outré landscapes, the UNIT computer system starts flagging out odd disappearances, appearances and deaths.
- A man found in his bed, drowned in salt water containing Pacific phyloplankton.
- A woman found wandering the streets in a night-shirt, clutching an SS dagger and with a gunshot would, babbling of the Second World War.
- A seeming Saxon warrior discovered in a locked art gallery.
Is Chloe aware of her powers? Are the artworks the product of her unconscious? Or had contact with the Isolus sensitised her to alien contacts. So what's living in her brain these days?
5. And finally, and maybe this is my suspicious nature, what did happen to her father in 2011? Was the 'car crash' really an accident? Was he mother's reluctance to speak of it just down to relief from years of abuse? Or was there more to the accident that admitted? If so who was responsible? And is he really gone?

Maybe her Father does still exist in some form. Lurking deep within her subconscious acting as not only her own personal bogeyman but also as a weapon. Although, no longer afraid of him he still exists but manifests in reality thanks to the trace remnants of the Isolus’s’ power borne from her frustrations and anxiety, attacking all those who slight her. Acting as a murderous Tulpa. The worse thing is, Chloé isn’t even aware of it. Although she has found out that she has been drawing him in her sleep. Much to her horror. And what’s worse, she’s apparently been hiding these drawings from herself. Should the PCs ever encounter The Father, I’d present him as he was in the episode. A mass of shadows only seen by silhouette. Emitting a red glow with mild telekinetic abilities. Roaring “I’M COMING TO HURT YOU…” Cue your Time Lord PC standing defiant akin to the First Doctor in The War Machines. And as for the accident? Maybe a certain villainous Time Lord or individual engineered the car accident after sabotaging the brakes. As part of an elaborate means to ensure their resurrection via the means of one of Adult Chloé’s drawings? Admittedly, you’d have to handle the idea rather sensitively.

This discussion of Chloe brings up a more general point; what happens to the lives of those who've interacted with the Doctor, or similar individuals. They've seen through the masquerade of 'ordinary' life, what next? Do they repress the memories, and continue with their 'normal' lives? Do they become obsessed with (say) the Doctor? (Like Clive perhaps). So they seek out others, via discreet interent fora? Do they start looking for other signs of weirdness?

I believe we do sort of know that in effect though with say Sarah Jane who went on and dealt with alien threats after travelling with The Doctor. But also with how LINDA was formed in trying to track the Doctor. Perhaps LINDA still is running with Elton as its leader with new members included?

An interesting idea! What about a kind of reverse LINDA where its people who attempt to go after the Doctor for various more hostile intentions. More Earthbound but could be recruited by someone from out of space/time such as say The Master.

It fits into the manipulative Doctor theme of the later Virgin novels rather well too.

It’s an interesting concept. Reminds me a lot of the Victim Syndicate from a recent run of Batman. dc.fandom.com/wiki/Victim_SyndicateA group formed of casualties from across the various Doctor’s adventures who seek revenge on him. With someone, of course, stoking the fires of said hatred. Maybe the group has even tried to recruit Chloé Webber? But she is reluctant and is merely trying to move on with her life. Even if as the group states, she still is drawing pictures of her late father…
