All my old TSR box sets fell apart within a year or so of being brought brand new. But not just them, every box set despite being treated as carefully as possible has fallen apart on me. Because of this I have a dislike of box sets when a good old-fashioned book would suffice.

Because of this I have a dislike of box sets when a good old-fashioned book would suffice. The old TSR boxes (I'm thinking the original top secret, Marvel Superheroes, Indiana Jones, Conan) were all quite flimsy affairs, imho. Thinnish card, corners glued together that tended to come unstuck the moment you looked at them funny ... OTOH, the later box sets such as used in some of the AD&D 2nd Ed Products (I'm thinking the spell card sets for wizards and clerics, for example) were rock solid construction, judging from the examples I've still got ...

Granted, some of the old TSR boxes were pretty flimsy, but for the most part, the boxes of stuff that I had for DRAGONQUEST, UNIVERSE, SKYREALMS OF JORUNE, and DC HEROES were pretty solid affairs and have lasted me to this day.

It's also really a matter of storing gaming stuff in not-too-cold not-too-hot places with adequate room to breathe.

I'm readily waiting for a Sara Jane Adventures and a Torchwood expansion. I'd guess the Torchwood book would be a lot like the UNIT book. As for the SJA book, I'd probably guess there might be rules for playing younger characters or how to build them in relation to their adult counterparts
Also waiting for a Gadget book to accompany the Aliens and Monsters book.

UNIT is more likely to use convential or modified convential weapons and tactics (ie in Battlefield the Brigadier takes stock of gold bullets for Cybermen and wonders if they have any silver)
Torchwood is all about the alien gadgets. So it would be like a no-Doctor campaign, with all humans and lots of gadgets. There should be a setting/genre rule that all the gadgets have flaws or are not completely understood.
Possibly the season mechanic from Prime Time Adventures would be good as well - prioritising which character is spotlighted in which episode, with an increasing chance of death as the season gets towards the end.

I'm with you. If for no other reason than there are some interesting adversaries in SJA and Torchwood that I'd like to have available for my games [and I'm too busy to write them up myself]

I'd like to see official Character Sheets for the past Doctors and companions not included in the main release.

I'd like to see official Character Sheets for the past Doctors and companions not included in the main release. That would be good and I am sure that will happen as supplements are released that have to do with those eras. Wouldn't be surprised to see The Third Doctor and Jo turn up in the Defending the Earth boxed set. Allen

That would be good and I am sure that will happen as supplements are released that have to do with those eras. Can't wait. I didn't expect most of them in the original game but I was surprised with it including every new series companion and the Tenth Doctor that it didn't include the Ninth as well. My only mild dissapointment with the otherwise brilliant game.

I'd like to see a tech book, as we're missing spacecraft/aircraft/hovercars etc. In addition I'd like to see Who-themed story point chips similar to those used in HEX. I suspect I'd buy an ungodly amount Plus, reiterating just in case C7 weren't paying attention earlier: a complete season box set

I suspect I'd buy an ungodly amount Ever since I went to the UK for my honeymoon I've been inordinately proud of my penny TARDIS I had pressed at the Cardiff exhibition. It makes me wonder if it would be worthwhile to turn several pounds worth of pennies into the elliptical TARDIS commemorative medals just to use them as Story Points

Hullo, Elden, First off, welcome to the boards. You'll find the folks around here are all good eggs, and very friendly and accommodating. I'd like to see official Character Sheets for the past Doctors and companions not included in the main release. Then you got your wish. The only Doctor included in the boxed set is the Tennant Doctor, and the only companions included are his companions. Classic Who Doctors and companions would not have made no sense to be included as the boxed set could only focus on New Who anyway.

the lack of ninth doctor isn't surprising, he was on the show for less than a season.

I like box sets as you can store character sheets - or other sheets - with the game itself and transport it without things going missing. This box set seemed heavy to me. There was so much packed in there... you might even think it was bigger on the inside than it was on the outside...

Well, technically there are far more games inside the pages than there are written - one could even say an infinite amount.

I'd like to see a tech book, as we're missing spacecraft/aircraft/hovercars etc. Hopefully it would include a section devoted to just the Tardis, and the different types. Type 40, Battle / War TARDISes, Type 102 (fully sentient, and able to take on humanoid form), Stardis.

Ooh, that's right, I forgot about the Brig retiring three years before he joined. Conundrum, to be sure! Frankly, I'm just looking forward to the UNIT box more than the Aliens box, simply because it will have Classic Who material in it (I hope).

Im willing to bet the updated retail version of the game due out later in the year will contain a sheet for the new incarnation of the doctor and probably his new companion aswell so hopefully cubicle 7 and the bbc will post those on the new dr who rpg site once its up and running for those of us who may not pick up the revised retail version?
As for stuff i'd like to see i'd have to go with kaemaril's idea of a full season boxset and maybe some sort of virgin books suppliment that covers stuff introduced during the 50 or so books written during the ninties and the adventures and companions introduced during those stories.
