I've seen (and have) the screen. It's very, very nice Haven't seen the Monster box yet, apart from the cover. edited to add: Trevellian also has a screen, iirc.

Well, on your say so will get the screen... I often am disappointed with these addons but I am sure C7 will have done a good job of it AND it helps cashflow AND more Who products ;D

First GM screen I was suitably impressed with was the one for Hollow Earth Expeditions. Big. Chunky. 4 panels of glossy, solid card rather than the flimsy 3-panel affairs I'd seen before. If the Who one is anything like the HEX one, it's a given that I'll buy it.
Story seed books? Season-by-season guides to the show including monster write-ups like the people at Mongoose did for Babylon 5? Granted, they only had 5 seasons to work with but if the C7 license only really covers NuWho then that's easier as there are fewer Who episodes to a series... More detailed monster guides for those that keep coming back? There's lots of stuff that *could* be done...

If anyone has the Victoriana 2nd ed screen, it's pretty much the same. Also, gorgeous cover art

Also, gorgeous cover art Well, on that recommendation, I will definitely be buying the DW: AiTaS RPG Screen. The matte finish for the Screen was probably a good idea, but I do love the HEX Screen's flashiness. I just hope the Screen appeals to people, as the HEX Screen exterior jumps out at one, and says, "Oooh, play this game!" I had hoped that the Screen would be out the same time as the main rules box. Now, I just want to know when the GM Screen will be available in Canada...?

Alas, it seems you need a login to view that page ... Judging from the lack of spaceships, space stations etc ... might we see a technology book at some point, I wonder?

Yes, I was fortunate enough to win one in C7's preorder raffle at Dragonmeet. Things have come a long way since the flimsy AD&D GMs screen I remember - as Kaemaril says, it's very sturdy, the tables are very useful (including a very handy contents table listing the pages of key rules) and it looks very pretty too! EDIT: More info on the screen in my post here dwaitas.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=52&page=3

It's an interesting idea, but I think I'd want such a box to be character-neutral (but throw in some npcs to serve as candidates for the near-mandatory-these-days companion's family) Throw in a box set of 13 (or less, with 'two parters') adventures, with suggestions for connecting them, with maps and player handouts? Maybe some cardboard minis? Sold! I'd buy it, and so - I suspect - would the younger players/kids ...

I think character-agnosticism should be pretty easy to achieve, I'm just assuming that to get maximum exposure, it would probably have to feature the current Doctor. The Doctor is the Doctor - the only problem would be 80s companions fitting in to the 2000s (or situations similar to this). But hey, they are time travelers!
Speaking of minis, when I heard that Doctor Who was going to be a box set, I was so hoping for Dalek minis. Little, tiny, miniature Daleks. How awesome would that be? Alas…

Yeah, sign me up for a series box like that.
I want more characters from the show to play, I would like plot hooks and story ideas (perhaps even full adventures) that spin off from episodes or even take place during episodes. And a big book of tech, please.

While I agree with you that boxed sets are a brilliant thing and I love the idea with this game, it just means it's going to be pretty expensive buying all the stuff for this game...but I love it!

We cross paths in all the finest forums, don't we JohnK!
Box sets are expensive, yes, but it takes me back to the golden age of Al Qadim where every supplement bar 2 or 3 were boxed sets. My original Call of Cthulhu and Cthulhu by Gaslight were treasured sets (until a move when the box became badly water damanged. Curses!)
I just hope the whole lot go on sale at Play.com!

To be fair, I am not a fan of box sets. They take up too much space on the shelf and tend to not last very long, where as a book fits snuggly on the shelf and lasts for ages (especially softcovers in my experience).

I like box sets as you can store character sheets - or other sheets - with the game itself and transport it without things going missing.

I've got boxes that are over ten years old that are still holding up nicely ... 2) Just because it is delivered in a box you don't have to keep it in the box But even if the boxes fall apart easily(and I suspect these won't) I'm not too worried - I've got three of them!

Hullo, Imajica, We cross paths in all the finest forums, don't we JohnK! hehe Yes, we seem to cross paths in the best forums, usually. I suspect that this also shows our taste in the finest of games, too! Box sets are expensive, yes, but it takes me back to the golden age of Al Qadim where every supplement bar 2 or 3 were boxed sets. My original Call of Cthulhu and Cthulhu by Gaslight were treasured sets (until a move when the box became badly water damanged. Curses!) I just hope the whole lot go on sale at Play.com! Boxed sets are definitely expensive, moreso nowadays then they were in the past. Various reasons for that, which we'll not go into... That said, this takes me back to the days of the old DC HEROES rpg, which was a very full, heavy box as well. Not so much the 2nd Edition boxed set, but still... For me, the treasured box sets were DRAGONQUEST, UNIVERSE, CALL OF CTHULHU (which I no longer have), SKYREALMS OF JORUNE, DC HEROES, and now Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space. Oh, and the original DW RPG from FASA.

Same here, I love my boxes. I have two shelves of mostly games from the 80s (lots of STAR TREK boxes, DRAGONQUEST, RUNEQUEST boxes, BUSHIDO, TSR boxes, UNIVERSE, TRAVELLER). It's probably the old wargamer in me, and mine have lasted quite well. But IMO, boxes say "this is a game", and I think that's an important element in bringing new people into the hobby. And the beauty of this game is "just add pen". Everything is there, ready to be played. No taking a book and copying sheets or manually cutting tokens, or hunting down PDFs.
It's pricey, yes, but the quality shows and the hundreds of hours of entertainment to come make it a better deal than almost any other form of entertainment to me.

Hullo, Eryx, True, for a while. I can see the box slowly falling apart over time though. Boxed sets of rpgs and even board games fall apart over time, but the more care one takes with a box the longer it will last. I still have DRAGONQUEST and UNIVERSE rpg boxes that are pretty good shape, given that I've had the games for over 30 years. And my SKYREALMS OF JORUNE box is in excellent shape as well. As for the DW game and the boxed set, once some of the other boxed sets for DW: AiTaS come out, I'll likely be using a completely different box to keep the game components that I need all the time to run the game together, and the rest of the boxes will go into my cupboard where they will be safe.
