The C7 store has it listed as "due in stock on Dec 14" (ie. yesterday). Does anyone know if pre-orders are likely to be sent out this week?
My order is described as "viewed" - what does that mean?

Angus mentioned in a reply to a post to me over on LiveJournal that the GM Screen should hit stores the first couple of weeks of January, 2010. I was hoping to get the Screen the week before or after Christmas, but will be patient...it's a good prezzy for the New Year!

Slight disappointment, but doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things because (a) there's plenty of TV Who goodness over Christmas to keep me happy and (b) I'm not actually going to get a chance to play the game until next year anyway!

I haven't seen "Waters of Mars" yet (it airs here on Saturday night, yay!!), and I don't know when we're going to get to see "The End of Time" in Canada, but patience is a virtue and all that. That said, it's somewhat disappointing not to have the GM Screen in December, as I wanted to run a game using the tables properly from the GM Screen, but that's all right. Patience is a virtue and all that.

I'm waiting patiently for the screen's release and associated reviews to see whether purchase or self-prep would be the better options...

Hullo, Kit, Dom posted this on the c7 forum today: "The screen should start to hit stores in 2-3 weeks." Hooray!! Really looking forward to this, based on my experience running the game to this point, as there are so many charts that are needed at times. I do wish the Screen had some additional material to go with it, but such is not to be. Ah, well, still want it, wantsss it, precioussss...

I can tell you, I think it's worth the wait. I'd have preferred a gloss finish to a matt one, but that's a personal preference not a criticism. The tables are great and the artwork is gorgeous If you didn't notice, Leisure Games had pre-orders for the screen and the monster box and the UNIT box last week.

This is *excellent* news to hear, as having a copy of the GM Screen will reduce the time it takes to look up certain things, and simply combat tremendously. I just have to wonder how long it will be before the GM Screen shows up in my local shops here in Ottawa. But definitely looking forward to having the GM Screen.

Got my copy in the post today, looks quite neat. Sturdiest GM screen I've ever bought, not like the Angel Director's Screen or the M&M 2E GM screen, which basically just folded sheets of cardboard.
All of the necessary info seems to be present too. Good stuff.
Now all I need is for my boxset of the core rules to arrive. ;D

The 'deluxe' M&M screen is of roughly the same sturdiness, though the deluxeness is pretty much the construction. As far as I can tell the actual content hasn't changed. My favourite is still the HEX screen. Just as sturdy, lovely artwork on a par with the DW screen, and a lovely glossy finish. Cracking stuff

I got mine today too, much quicker than I was expecting after the '2-3 weeks' was announced. As said it's very sturdy and good quality. I prefer matt so I'm happy with that too, but that's a matter of taste of course.

Cracking stuff Since you've got both the HEX and the DW: AiTaS GM Screens, which one is the sturdier of the two. I adore the one for HEX and really hope the one for DW: AiTaS is just as good.

It's pretty much the same construction as the HEX screen - perhaps just a smidgin thinner. but I'd be hard-pressed to choose between the two. The Victoriana screen is much the same, btw

The HEX GM Screen was actually pretty thick cardboard, so are you saying that's the basic paper for the DW: AiTaS one as well? If so, that's pretty pleasing to me. I hear that the Screen is matte, rather than glossy, but that's not a problem to me. I prefer the glossy - it attracts more attention - but the matte works just as well, and fits the game a bit better methinks.

Hullo, Kaemaril, Well, I've not broken out the micrometer to see which has the edge in thickness, but yes : it's thick cardboard. Excellent, this is highly encouraging. Now, if the Canadian stores would just get their copies of this in stock, I'd be happy...and would buy one lickety-split. (Btw, how many GM Screens are you planning on having?)

(Btw, how many GM Screens are you planning on having?) Just the two. One for use and one for Sunday best ;D I've got the one that C7 were kind enough to send me last month, and I'm waiting for my pre-order to come through from Leisure Games (whenever that will be).

Yep, I can understand wanting the one for use and one for Sunday best. I plan to do this myself, depending on the price of the Screen in Canadian dollars when it hits stores here. I'm really hoping all the table that I want are on the thing, to be honest.
