Just curious to know who else is thinking about running a Torchwood-themed campaign? It's something I'm considering, but at this stage I haven't had the time to think about the concept in detail. Anyone else running a Torchwood game they'd care to share details about?

I took the idea of Project Bluebox from the board and ran with it. Bluebox is an American organization that is similiar to Torchwood. I decided to let Torchwood stay dead, a noble idea that was killed by its own greed and avarice.

I'm working on a series on one-shots that focus on Torchwood teams in various eras and locales-Victorian London, Edwardian England, Canada, 1990s Hong Kong...

I am currently working on a campaign that addresses the vacuum left by Torchwood's dissolution after The Children of Earth. I am calling it Torchwood Unplugged.

I am running a torchwood 4 campaign a mix of characters from early 1900's and modern. I like the creative freedoom of a Torchwood campaign. You are not so locked into the events of the TV series as you wold be in a Dr. Who campaign. You can find a lot of background info on Torchwood using Wiki : General Torchwood Info : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torchwood_InstituteTorchwood Characters : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Torchwood_charactersList of Torchwood aliens : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Torchwood_creatures_and_aliensList of Torchwood gadets: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Torchwood_itemsYou could also use google maps to get maps of Cardiff. Also do a google search for images of Cardiff and use them as player handouts. As a GM I would ask yourself if you are going to run a series that takes place during the events of the show, or are you going to pick up where the show left off in the "Children of Man" ? You could start a campaign were Torchwood is being rebuilt. The beging scene at Buckingham Place with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles grant honors to the family members of the deceased Torchwood agents and surviving agents. She could then set forth a new mission charter and appoint new members of the Torchwood institute. You might even work in a joke about Prince Charles new wife being an alien . Good canidates for agents for the new and improved Torchwood : Gwen Cooper and her husband, Martha Jones, PC Andy Davidson, Bridget Spears, Lois Habiba. Then you would have your character do clean up of the old hub, you have a lot of alien artifacts somewhere in the rubble not to mention a Capt. Jack's brother Gray stored in a cryo-chamber. You might also explore Weevil's a bit more, they have a hive mind simular to the Ood, might thier be a conection ? Can they be turned into a slave race simular to the Ood? What are thier true orgins ? Just a few ideas to get you started

In my previous Torchwood game, which I ran under modified Basic Fuzion Rules, the characters were part of a new Torchwood One in london. (the game took place after series 2 but before CoE since it hadn't even been a glimmer yet). Their base was in a hidden basement and series of tunnels underneath an old comic shop in london, an unused Torchwood asset. It was your average seedy 70's inspired comic shop run by an old hippy. The access was through a strange white metal door that Had maintainence painted on it. For some reason the door could only be seen by people with psychic training or if they had the key on their person. The door was, unknown to the characters, a remnant discovered by the previous owner in a crater, undamaged. It was the inner doors to the Tardis's Zero Room, which got ejected into the vortex to give the during the doctors regeneration into his fifth incarnation.
The New Team also had many run ins with a new wave of weevils, many inhabiting the closed Alien War Theme ride beneath london. When they captured four of the weevil, they discovered that they did indeed have a networked mentality. The more weevils there are, the smarter the group gets. There was a mysterious queen weevil, as well, but it only existed when a large enough group of weevils were together.. a sort of virtual queen made by the networking of their minds. in close proximity.
