Hullo, Rassilon, Sounds like it's going to be a terrific product, Rassilon. I assume that this will be the fourth boxed set, after the core rules, Aliens and Creatures, and Defending the Earth, yes? Looking forward to it and seeing the cover of the boxed set.

That's a nice fancy cover. But I wonder was the image composed in-house or provided? Reason being each of the characters seems to be experiencing an entirely different situation. The Doctor is clearly vanquishing some scary aliens with his sonic screwdriver. River Song appears to be using hers as a torch to search her attic and Captain Jack's expression and posture leads me to believe he's reminding his date that they're late for the opera. But yeah, can't wait for this.

I repeat - squee. Oh, wait, no, there was something else I wanted to say… What was it, what was it… It was something important - Oh, right! I'm crashing! Dangit, still wrong… Oh, I've submitted the item (and the image) to Geekdo. It's here: rpg.geekdo.com/rpgitem/67153/the-time-travellers-companion, although the image probably won't show up until people approve it - so other members, Get thee to a geekmod station! … I know. Spent waayyyy too much time building up to that.

What's in the box, though? It just says 228 pages - I hope it's not just a book in a box

There were unconfirmed rumours of the new season starting March 13th - IF true that means the series will probably be over by the time this is released, assuming the usual 13 week run

I just saw this over on RPG Geek. Fantastic! More Doctor Who RPG books, I can't wait.
It's so great to see this game being supported.

I can confirm enough to say it really is worth looking forward to! Nathaniel has done some sterling work on time travel rules and TARDIS design. There is lots of detail for Time lord PCs and building TARDIS units of your own. I've had a lot of fun with temporal anomalies.
The whole thing is packed with detail on travelling time, and new rules you can use to really detail the experience or ignore if things are too complicated.
We did have a few worries after the End of Time part one that we were going to have to rewrite a lot of it!

Sweet. Looking forward to this. But why another box set? Can we not have things released as books?

Hullo, Eryx, Sweet. Looking forward to this. But why another box set? Can we not have things released as books? In some ways, I agree with you as the cost of box sets is higher for the consumer, but I guess all gamers these days are supposed to be wealthy given the costs on game products. I would love to see hardcover DW: AiTaS books and all for a lot of stuff, to be honest.

I'll also add that it would be nice to have character stats inside the books as well as on the sheets.

Box set's fall apart relatively quickly where as I find hardcover books start to go based on wear and tear, and softcover seem to last for years. I would much rather have these supplements as proper books rather than box sets.

This is more a function of how solid the game box is to begin with, as well as how much abuse the GM and players subject the box to. It's the wear and tear issue, regardless of whether it's a boxed set or hardcover or whatever.

I hope there's a 32 page adventure book. I love 32 page adventure books. Me too. The Adventure Book in the core box set is so full of great ideas that I feel it would take fifty adventures or more to use them all up! As for that cover, C7 really ought to at least try to get Matt Smith on the cover. By the time this thing comes out, his first season will probably be finished! 10 will be a distant memory in the minds of the average viewer.

I've a feeling that by the time this hits the shelves his first Christmas Special will be over. If we're unlucky he'll be mid-way through his next season.

Any word on if the cover will stay the same? I'm guessing it was written for the Tennant years. Or will this be updated to reflect Matt Smith's adventures also?

The cover won't stay the same and I believe it will be an updated version. Download issue 148 of Game Trade Magazine and scroll down to page 5(17). The covers for the TTC and DtE are shown there.

Nice covers, shame about the release dates! Still, lots of good stuff in 148! I could see a use for the Dystopian Wars bits and bobs for a Who adventure...
