Another adventure seed; let's see what people do with it.
The TARDIS materializes in a 37th Century art museum, one of the finest in the galaxy with one of the universe's best collection of paintings from "ancient" Earth. But the Doctor notices something wrong: many of these pictures are known to have been destroyed in various wars and conflicts over the centuries. The pictures are all genuine, so what are they doing here intact?
The director of the museum has been hiring "recovery agents" with access to crude Time Corridor technology to "rescue" the paintings. Since they would have been destroyed otherwise he sees no moral conflict. But the "recovery agents" are becoming less and less scrupulous, and the technology is not without its side effects....

Nice little seed. Please accept some karma

I had a similar idea from the other direction:
The TARDIS lands in Alexandria shortly before the library is about to burned, to see it and rescue some lost scrolls... and alerts the passengers that there's another time machine in the area.

I like this idea. I've been thinking of using the Bannermen as ongoing protagonists, this would be a good use for them as lackeys.

Thanks, everybody! I'm really beginning to enjoy coming up with these.
