Hello everyone
In Lady Penelope's next adventure, she will encounter a psychic variant of the Vashta Nerada - a living darkness which devours sanity and thoughts (as opposed to flesh and tissues). And I'd really like to give it a name resembling that of the Vashta Nerada (say, the "Vastha Something"), to convey the fact that the two species are probably related. Does anyone have a cool, creepy-sounding alternative to "Nerada"?

How about Vashta Cerebrae? Considering it tends to prey on the mind than it does the flesh.

Ultimately you could come up with a lot of things even new words, the translation of the Vashta Nerada means "The Shadows that melt the flesh" so you could have a variant that may be "The shadows that melt the brain" say Vashta Neurada or Vashta Psychada?

Yeah that's what I'm aiming for - but "psychada" or "neurada" are obvious Greek derivations, while "nerada" is not (and that's the kind of thing I'm looking for).

Using Sanskrit, the language of the Veda, Vashta Mastiska means something like inhabitant of the brain, or Vashta Manyu means inhabitant of the mind. I;m just using online translation tools, so the results may not be exact.
