This is something I had thought about, the doctor said in The Doctor Falls that the cybermen are inevitable, that everywhere there is people and technology there is a chance for the a new branch of cybermen would form up. It got me thinking, what planets shown within the show that already do not have cybermen related conversion stories attached to them that has a chance for the Cybermen to start, either out of Technological Progression, Survival or Cybermen take over. I thought we could use this thread to create scenario seeds where cybermen could evolve from on various planets as campaign ideas to prevent cybermen evoluton perhaps.
Ill start with Atrios. Atrios featured in The Armageddon Factor where it was shown to be in a nuclear war with its neighbouring planet Zeos. Id image that after the war had ended, the Atrions where at a state of decay and ruin, where they were cuddled up within their bunkers surviving on broken technology to survive where rebuilding is taking its time but still in vein. They cannot go back to the surface though due it being a series of radioactive swamps containing dangerous mutated lifeforms. The people of Atrios are now confined within their bunkers and Atrion scientists are coming up with solutions. Soon the idea of Cybernetics was accepted and now the Atrions are experimenting with the idea. Soon the Atiron Cybermen would become the dominate lifeform and the recolonised Zeos is taking note and may even start a new war to destroy it.
I can see this being played in 3 ways each in varying difficulty
1: The cybermen are at a prototype stage on Atrios, mainly from a few surviving volunteers who agreed to be part of the experiment, nothing more than crude cybernetics at this stage of development might be easy to simply take on and prevent the experiments from becoming major
2: Conversion is taking full effect upon Atrios and underground hopsitals have been converted into conversion factories where Atrion survivors are now lining up to be converted, all though not all the planet has been converted just yet, it is full swing and may be difficult to take on this version of the cybermen.
3: The entirety of Atrios has been converted, soon Atrios cybermen are living upon the surface of the planet. Soon they have old Atrios ships and are on their way to Zeos to convert the New Zeons into cybermen. This has been brought to attention by the New Zeon Government, who are considering declaring war upon this new Atrios. The would mean more devastation and would be difficult to persuade not to, but maybe the war is necessary to defeat this new version of the cybermen.
Lets see what other planets might also allow for Cybermen to develop upon across the show's history.
