The one that caught my eye was the Parker Expedition, which fits in neatly with the traditional Whovian theme of diggers unearthing something nasty/weird/alien. Ah, the possibilities....
It also ties into an older mystery, the archaeological explorations done by Sir Charles Warren (yep, him of 'Jack the Ripper' fame/infamy) decades earlier n 1867-70; the Parker team uses maps and excavations of Warren's as the basis for their own exploration. There's a good piece about it on Atlas Obscura. Warren's Gate and Warren's Shaft are still archaeological landmarks today. His book, Underground Jerusalem, is a good reference for such delvings.
Nice work @acrobatic Flea.
