The thread title says it all!
So, here are my thirteen favorite TV stories, one per Doctor (not counting the War Doctor). In many cases, the choices were quite tough.
FIRST DOCTOR: "An Unearthly Child", for obvious reasons: this is all it all began!
SECOND DOCTOR: "The War Games", a fantastic ten-parter, which gave us (among other things) the first, official glimpse of the Time Lords.
THIRD DOCTOR: "Inferno", for the whole parallel universe story (I mean, a Nazi counterpart of the Brigadier - who can resist that?).
FOURTH DOCTOR: "Talons of Weng-Chiang". For the plot and the Victorian atmosphere, for Leela, Jago & Litefoot. Or perhaps "City of Death" or almost any story with Lalla Ward as Romana...
FIFTH DOCTOR: "The Caves of Androzani". For the plot and the dark, dystopic, ultra-pessimistic story.
SIXTH DOCTOR: "The Ultimate Foe" - for the Valeyard, such a great concept for a villain. And yes, I did like the whole "Trial of a Time Lord" story arc.
SEVENTH DOCTOR: "The Curse of Fenric". A masterpiece. For Ace, Fenric, the plot, the setting, the characters... and the Seventh Doctor at his best!
EIGHTH DOCTOR: The TV movie, obviously... Luckily for us, Paul Mc<Gann went on to make fantastic audiobooks for Big Finish.
NINTH DOCTOR: "The Unquiet Dead" or "Dalek", for very different reasons (and, of course, Christopher Eccleston's fantastic Doctor). I was really unable to break the tie here... especially since I already had to discard several other wonderful stories...
TENTH DOCTOR: "The Girl in the Fireplace", for its unique story. A lot of tough choices here, too... Almost every David Tennant episode is (at least) fantastic.
ELEVENTH DOCTOR: "Vincent and the Doctor">, for its extraordinary final scene.
TWELFTH DOCTOR: "Empress of Mars". It's such a pity Bill Potts was only here for a single season. I keep on thinking that Clara, as a character, constantly cramped Capaldi's Doctor's style - the season with Bill really restored him to a far more interesting role.
THIRTEENTH DOCTOR: "The Haunting of Villa Diodati". As a fan of Ken Russell's Gothic, I was probably bound to like this one. Ironically, it was the episode who opened the way for the whole "Timeless Child" twist - OK, I won't digress further.
So, what are YOUR favorites?
