Tripping.
Inspired by recent Channel 4 TV series Tripped which featured a couple of stoner friends (Milo and Danny) jumping between parallel universes while being pursued by several versions of a person (Callum) who wants to kill them and any analogues of them in the multiverse, several analogue’s of Danny’s wife Kate also feature. As do quite a lot of drugs and some incest.
Spoilers follow.
Several parallel Earths are visited; one where Milo (dead) was a music star and everyone is armed (“Since Prime Minister Farage said we could” ), one where the Earth is facing global nuclear war (but Tesco carries cocaine), one that appears to be a frozen wasteland, one where misuse of parallel travel has destroyed the environment, and more.
It gets rather darker towards the end with the protagonists leaving one Earth (Warworld?) just ahead of a nuclear war and arriving on one facing imminent destruction where they’re tortured and sentenced to hang. There’s a scene with several Kates being kept as sex-slaves and finally the two discover who their own worst enemies are.
Themselves.
It's all rather reminiscent of Sliders and TimeLords (especially the Primary Game option) with a small group haplessly jumping between parallels. Jet Li’s The One is somewhat similar.
It would make an interesting short game or campaign, rather different from the usual Doctor Who style. A pair or small group of people are forced to evade a homicidal pursuer by jumping across worlds, trying to survive and figure out what's going on. And with the option of replacing any fatalities with new analogues of the original character. If they've got a wristband/remote/matrix they can't operate it properly, so they've no control over where they end up. Otherwise they may have to find the natural portals between worlds.
For a more science fictional feel you could add worlds which have developed some aspects of advanced technology; cold fusion, anti-gravity (Back to the Future), nanotech, cybernetics (Pete's World) and more. Allow the PCs to pick up a few toys. If you use the idea of 'echoes', from GURPS Infinite Worlds (one of the better sourcebooks for such a game) parallels might be identical in history, but at an earlier date. Allowing the protagonists to alter 'history' for gain or to create a better world.
Such a game, if played in the Tripped mould would have three drivers:
Another idea is a cross-over of sorts with Primeval; having portals appear and the PCs encounter one, only to be picked up by an organised covert agency exploring the portal network.
Thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

- The GM will need to decide on 'gadget control' policies. Are the players the type who'll acquire an APC for transport (ah, TimeLords ), or rely on what they can fit in their pockets? Judge the threat level accordingly.
Such a game, if played in the Tripped mould would have three drivers:
- Survival. This could be as simple as avoiding attention and finding shelter and food until the next jump, or a desperate struggle to find a portal to avoid death on an Earth facing an asteroid impact or zombie apocalypse.
- Antagonist. Avoiding the homicidal attentions of 'Callum' or whatever is pursuing the PCs. Perhaps this requires the sacrifice of their analogues on that world? As a longer term goal they may want to stop their pursuer, either by killing him/them or disrupting their plans.
- Information. Find out what's going on. Why were they targeted?
