I've taken the liberty of combining the Time Traveller's Companion unofficial write-up of the Third Doctor by Pertwee (Nathaniel Torson - author of the TTC) and integrated it into the official write-up in the Third Doctor Sourcebook. I've felt that the later Doctor's Sourcebooks seem to have covered their respective Traits in a much more in-depth manner than the Third Doctor's one, so for completeness (and for fellow Third Doctor fans) here's the unofficial version. The Third Doctor's stats in the UNIT sourcebook are close to Mr Torson's (with the exception of the Hot Shot Trait, which arguably, is nice to be included for completeness). There are several missing Traits in the official Third Doctor Sourcebook so these (courtesy of Mr Torson's write-up) are included. The 'Convince' skill in the official sourcebook is listed as 2, while the UNIT write-up and Mr Torson's version is a 3 and appears to be consistent with the other Doctor's write-ups, so this has been retained. Save and print. Enjoy.

Hello, first thanks for this files. Second, I have tried to understand how a "Doctor" file was made, and find me unable to understand how you (And the authors) made one. If I follow the rule it's stated that you have 24 points for Attributs and Traits (27 if you count the +2 ingenuity from Time Lords). Before you tell me that Negative Traits as here for that, I know but there is more issues. The rule state that Skill have 18 points (Even with à X2 experienced we are only at 26). In your file, I count 31 for the Attributes & 32 for the Skills, And I even scratch the Positive Traits. Seems to me that the negative Traits not balance it ; even with two Free (Thanks again Time Lord). At least you respect the -4 Story Point for having Time Lord (One & Fourth have Nine Story Point & I can't explain how ?). But maybe I have skip something (After All the Tardis Files is inaccurate too if I want create one in following the rule) Or maybe The Tardis & the Doctor are like more as NPC, maybe that not the rule that I have to follow & just accept it like they are. The only answer I can find for the file of Fourth & Tenth (I don't recount all the Doctor's file) it's they have more Adversary (Minor & Major) than the Dalek, The Master & the Cyberman. But for me a Adversary come after you uncounted them. So for exemple the First he should have Adversary after he encounter the Dalek (Not before). Thanks for all information you can gave to me for that finally I understand it more.

The Doctor is not a starting character, so does not follow the rules for creating a new character. His GM has rewarded him a few times for little things like saving the universe.

I don't think any of the Doctors or companions in the Cubicle 7 books are written in accordance with the character creation rules. They are intended to accurately represent what we see of them on screen, rather than be restricted by the game mechanics.

The Doctor is not a starting character, so does not follow the rules for creating a new character. His GM has rewarded him a few times for little things like saving the universe. This. Basically the character was designed without attempting to 'points balance' it. I do the same with some of my NPC, especially antagonists. In fact in doing the EDC characters I made absolutely no attempt to controls the cost of the characters, they were designed from ideas and stat'd based on that.

The only time I worry about point balance is as a mechanism to ensure play balance between Time Lord PCs and Human PCs. I want the players who aren't playing a super alien to feel that they still have just as much to contribute.
Plus my group of PCs tend to have their own private agendas, which occasionally results in them trying to sabotage each other. Again, the Players need to feel that the character sheet are fairly balanced in such circumstances.
Other then that I build the NPCs however I feel is right, often beefing up the Official stats of certain NPCs in the process.
