That was an odd kind of episode, I thought, but I really liked it.

I wanted it to be better but I think it is just setting up future episodes.

I wanted it to be better but I think it is just setting up future episodes. Agreed on both counts. I felt the episode was like a prequel. The Doctor bringing up his Granddaughter Susan in the conversation took me by surprise a little. Foreshadowing or Red Herring - time will tell.

I liked it by and large. Ending was a bit out-of-nowhere though. It is nice that a show as big as Doctor Who can afford to be slow-paced and deeply weird sometimes, though.

Of course, there is the question of how Clara knew the Vigil were coming.

I liked it. There's even a possibility that Clara may become the Doctor's Granddaughter, IMHO. A loss of memory on his part...
Also - the TARDIS doesn't like Clara and isn't translating for her. Is it because of what she did, or what she will do?

Of course, there is the question of how Clara knew the Vigil were coming. I missed this.

So, the thing in the glass box? A vampire? Or a Vampire as in the things Time lords used to fight?

So, the thing in the glass box? A vampire? Or a Vampire as in the things Time lords used to fight? Nah, 'vampire' as in 'vampiric drainer of memories'.

Or a Vampire as in the things Time lords used to fight? The ones the Time Lords fought - from outside our universe - were they called Yssgaroth? Also I thought they were a about the size of a city in size (based on the State of Decay episode)
