Hi all I was just wanting to bounce some ideas off of everyone. I want to do a trilogy of adventures that will wind up bringing back Gallifrey. I want them to be linked together by some sort of creature being unleashed on the cosmos and the heroes have to stop it. Maybe its tearing away at time and they need to stop it. If anyone had any suggestions it would be appreciated. I will probably utilize the time war weapons from the TTC. Thanks!

For creatures tearing away at time, the chronovore from the Pertwee era story 'The Time Monster' could be good. Also having the creatures from 'Father's Day' show up as a side effect could be fun - they're trying to destroy what's causing the damage and don't care that the player characters are trying to fix things.

My friend suggested an idea where the heroes are constantly being pushed through different time periods on earth. I added that maybe the villain is trying to control some ancient Gallifreyian technology and doesn't know how to control it properly. By the third adventure the Timelords would step in to take control of the situation. But this is a post Time War campaign and I want to re establish them in my campaign. I do like the idea of the chronovore.

The Doctor Who novel "Dead Romance" had an entire Gallifrey constructed inside a Bottle Universe to be hidden away just in case the Time Lords lost the Time War. Millions of Gallifreyans were placed inside, and the novels never did explain what happened to that Bottle. I ran a 72 session RPG campaign about some surviving Time Lords questing to find that Bottle and restore the Time Lords. Summary of the novel... www.drwhoguide.com/who_na80.htmContinuity Guide... www.whoniverse.net/discontinuity/bs19.phpYou can buy the special edition version of the book here... madnorwegian.com/192/books/sf-fiction/dead-romance-faction-paradox-tie-in/Oh and the whole novel is written IN-UNIVERSE as a diary by one of the characters - so you can use it as a prop in the game! [Did I mention its my favorite Doctor Who novel? Nah - probably don't need to.]

One of the Big Finish audios explained that Irving Braxiatel removed the biodata extracts of all the time lords from Gallifrey. In my game, because I was irritated that the game just assumes you're going to play in the new continuity and doesn't really seem to support playing new Time Lords (I know the rules are there, but the text always supposes it's the Doctor), I made some changes based on that.
So, in my game, Braxiatel copied the Time Lord biodata and hid it, and then hid himself using the Chameleon Arch, with a preprogrammed set of circumstances that would "wake him up." Once that was done, he hired the Magratheans to build a new Gallifrey, then repopulated it. Only the High Council is aware of what was done; the rest of Gallifrey was told that they'd won the Time War, but had faked their own destruction.
Of course, all of that is going to bite the Time Lords on the posterior, someday.

Great ideas guys, I've been coming up w more ideas... One is a death/time cult that starts in the middle ages when our heroes encounter some time traveling Daleks when the heros defeat the daleks a group of monks band together to rid the earth of other world terrors and start dabbling in manipulating time. I might put the master or a new timelord in charge of the monks giving them access to timelord tech and knowledge. I have been putting small hints in each adventure leading up to this stuff. The dabbling in time will get out of control and it will be too much for the heroes and somehow ill bring back the timelords to sort it all.

This is a BIG spoiler for my own campaign, but feel free to use it. I'm sorting out a paradox effect where the Master has been pulled back out of the time lock and has gone back in time to orchastrate events so that the companions press the right buttons etc to release the master from the time lock. Obviously this will be very bad and result in nasty things like the Reapers and possible end of the universe but the Doctor won't let that happen!
The end result could easily be altered to show that Gallifrey is returned.

Also not to put too fine a point on it, but I think if you bring back Gallifrey, then you should look at haivng a season wide thing where the Daleks are trying to bring back Scaro (unlike Stephen Moffat!)
This could be monumental as the return of the time lords and Daleks from the time war would have me jumping up and down on my sofa with excitement
