Who else looked at the game and thought they would ever see this?
With all the other RPG's out there, I never thought I'd see another modern Dr Who RPG again for some reason. It was kind of an odd fictional wishlist item since I never expected the BBC to be interested in licencing this.
I don't think I've ever got a buzz like this simply from just owning a specific game.

I know exactly how you feel - and not only a new Who game but a beautiful box game, with more box sets coming down the pipe. I can't think of any game that has got me so jazzed. Unfortunately I've been so busy since my copy arrived that I haven't been able to sit down and read it all cover-to-cover, but even scanning through it gives me geeky goosebumps!

I expected it. With the way indies and narratives have been taking off in the last few years, sooner or later the very popular, very narrative TV show would be made. And with the way the BBC has been getting over licensing (from taking down knitting patterns of Ood to stopping me or any non-UK person from seeing any of their Who content on the web) - I knew it would have to be official only.

When I heard that C7 was getting the Who license I was very pleased, because I LOVE Doctor Who and RPGs and have enjoyed both of the previous versions.
Having now looked over the PDF of the game I can say I am absolutely delighted with the way the game has turned out. It is everything I hoped it would be and even more (despite the one goof-up regarding the HADS, which is a fairly obscure bit anyway). It is amazing and I can't wait to hold the "real" game in my hands...sadly, I simply cannot afford ink and paper or I wouldn't wait for the box to get here!

The author of that section seems to have confused the HADS (or Hostile Action Defense System) with the Internal Weapons Deactivation System or the "state of temporal grace" which prevents guns and lasers etc, from firing inside the TARDIS. The HADS protects the TARDIS from external threats by moving it out of the way, basically. I believe it first was used in a Patrick Troughton story. I consider this a really minor thing, truthfully. The HADS first appeared in the Troughton episode, The Krotons. What can I say? I'm a big Troughton fan. Cheers, Tim

I don't know about DVD, but it's available on YouTube from BBC Worldwide. (Although, despite the name, possibly not outside the UK.)

LOL, my copy of the Krotons is on VHS. I taped it off PBS TV in the late 80s. I dug out my old VHS collection from the closet when my wife asked to watch more Troughton Doctor Who. Cheers, Tim

Cheers, Tim *sigh* In a lot of ways, Tim, I wish I still had all my Doctor Who old VHS tapes, but I lost those when I had a terrible house fire. In some ways, the DVDs have been a lifesaver, since I've been able to watch some of the Classic Who stuff again, but there's some that aren't on DVD yet. Looking forward to "The Krotons" when it does come out.

Just finished re-watching "The Mind Robber" on DVD. What a great story that was, and what a wonderful actor Patrick Troughton was.

I was overjoyed when I heard there was going to be a new Doctor Who RPG. But also filled with some trepidation, I'd not liked Time Lord.
But having got my hands on AITAS I love it. I still have this nagging feeling the plug will get pulled too soon. So I'll be making sure I snap up every suppliment on day of release. I so want this game to succeed.
