Are there any plans to make the adventures run at DragonMeet available as PDFs?

Are there any plans to make the adventures run at DragonMeet available as PDFs? -Admin We had a couple running at Dragonmeet I believe. Do you mean my Sally Sparrow quick demo? If not, I think the other adventures were actually the ones from the boxed set. (in which case the answer would be yes if the Adventure book is going to be a pdf.) If you mean my Sally Sparrow one, I'm certainly happy to write it up and get it out there. :-)

I think that with the game's broad "playing arena" it might be difficult for new Gamesmasters to create adventures with a true Who feel and so the more examples of finished, playtested product ( ie adventures like the Sally Sparrow one mentioned) the better.

Ditto. Until Matt Smith was announced, I'd really been hoping for the new cast to include Sally Sparrow and Larry Nightingale as the young companions of an older Doctor.

One of the strengths hinted at in the DW: AiTaS rpg is that one doesn't have to use a Time Lord and companions as the focus of the game, and such a scenario would be great to show off this fact. Looking forward to seeing this adventure some time soon(est).

I'll see if Dom would like me to write it up, although then the BBC has to approve it. Failing anything else I'll put it up as a fan thing. The characters I made for it are: Sally Sparrow Larry Nightingale Banto (the guy from the video shop) Ross Jenkins (before he meets the Sontarrens!) Alice Coltrane (Donna's skittish and slightly psychic friend) Shireen Patel (who misses her friend Rose!)

Even though the adventure only runs for about an hour, that's pretty cool as it makes for a good convention mini-adventure or booth demo kind of thing, and if it gives a decent taste of the DW: AiTaS experience, that's good enough for me. You do raise an interesting point here. Does the Beeb have to approve all the scenarios published by Cubicle 7 for the game, even the scenarios for conventions? And how is this going to work in the event that someone wants to run a game of DW: AiTaS at a local convention or GenCon? The characters I made for it are: Sally Sparrow Larry Nightingale Banto (the guy from the video shop) Ross Jenkins (before he meets the Sontarrens!) Alice Coltrane (Donna's skittish and slightly psychic friend) Shireen Patel (who misses her friend Rose!) That is an *excellent* combination of characters for the scenario, and goes to highlight the types of characters that can be done with the game system, imo. I have always felt that it's important for any roleplaying game to showcase itself through adventures and scenarios that are uploaded to the game's main website. DW: AiTaS is no exception to the rule. Scenarios at conventions spread the word to the potential fans of the game (and the show, of course), and get the word out that the game is there...and what it can do. Always needed, imo.

And how is this going to work in the event that someone wants to run a game of DW: AiTaS at a local convention or GenCon? Well, the answer is both yes and no I believe. Anything we run that is an official Cubicle 7 demo game must be run past the BBC for approval. However, I don't believe there is a problem with anyone who isn't a C7 person running their own games at cons as they please. We just can't put an official stamp on it without approval. Hence why we offered adventures from the adventure book at Dragonmeet, and why my demos were not official Cubicle 7 ones... :-) That is an *excellent* combination of characters for the scenario, and goes to highlight the types of characters that can be done with the game system, imo. Glad you like them. I had a lot of fun running the game seeing people play them too. We are planning to hit a few non-gamer Who cons if we can find the time and manpower. We haven't missed the thought that Who is a great way to bring more non-gamers into the hobby. Especially as quick demos to show them what to do break down most of the barriers to people getting started themselves.

I'm relieved, since it means that I don't have to worry about running a DW: AiTaS adventure at the local CanGames here in Ottawa and having to pass the scenario past the Beeb for approval. That is an *excellent* combination of characters for the scenario, and goes to highlight the types of characters that can be done with the game system, imo. I think that this is an excellent idea, mate, and will go a long way to bring folks into the Who roleplaying community, but will also serve as you said to get folks new to the hobby into it with a great game and excellent license. Really looking forward to seeing the Sally Sparrow scenario when you finally get it down on paper for the rest of us!

Licensing does make me wonder about how fan created websites and resources are going to be handled.
I'd like to hear any official word on the matter. Presumably the folk at the BBC realised that fansites would be popping up for the RPG when they signed the license for C7?
My interest is in linking the official roleplaying game with unofficial, or no longer official derivative works (such as Faction Paradox).
Would a disclaimer on the site be acceptable? Something along the lines of "This is fan work, not endorsed by anyone who holds any of the rights, or the makers of the RPG"?
