Among the DWAiTaS threads on RPG.net I saw something about Cubical 7 producing box sets for each Doctor and their respective era of companions and villians, etc. Also mentioned was that they may have been announced here. Can someone point me to this? Thank you.

There hasn't been any official word yet. But if you talk to Dom at the right convention he'll tell you we are working on a boxed set for each Doctor, which will include stats, gadgets and the like for each Doctor and their companions and detail all of their adventures and how to make them playable (whether you know the story or not).
Obviously I said nothing there though :-)

Perhaps thats the only good thing for product delays... one can put more money aside over more time for these fine boxes.

I shall definitely be poking a bit of change into my "TARDIS Fund" for these - esp. for the supplements for the 4th & 7th Doctors !

Nine? The Eighth Doctor is going to be an appendix in the Seventh Doctor set and do we really need a Ninth Doctor box? We have all the aliens and companions in the main rules and A&C so just throw him in with the Seventh is what I say.

As each set will go over the adventures as well there should be enough to fill a boxed set for Nine. We're splitting 4 into two sets as his era is so big.

I always thought the ninth Doctor should have had a sheet in the core rules - the game says it's meant to cover the ninth and tenth Doctor's eras. I want official stats for number eight too.
I find it odd that these boxes contain seeds for televised adventures. Do people really want to reenact these stories? I prefer to think of our games as missing adventures - events that happen between episodes. Although I plan to run adventures inspired by Tony Lee's Time Machination - a comic in which the tenth Doctor works behind the scenes in Talons to thwart an attempt to sabotage the fourth Doctor's mission. If the idea is to compile seeds for televised stories I suppose we might see boxes for ten and eleven too.
Mostly I'm interested in these boxes for Doctor and companion stats, enemies and aliens, and gadgets and vehicles.

We'll be presenting details on how to run each story as an adventure, but as your own adventure not just to play through the episode.
There will also be copious notes about creating the style of that doctor in stories of your own as well as an adventure book as usual.
That should cover everything :-)

The season sourcebooks for the Babylon 5 RPG covered each episode in the season with ideas to tie into those episodes and how you could use the events of to affect your own stories. Thats what I imagine most people would use them for. I know I would.

That's the one nit-pick I have had so far with the box :-) albeit a small one. One question though: I have not yet seen any show with the 11th Doctor and not all of the last 10th Doctor specials. Are the specials covered in the old DW:AiTaS box (and maybe the Aliens & Creatures set)?

Aliens And Creatures goes up to The Next Doctor, so no stats for anything from Planet Of The Dead, The Waters Of Mars or The End Of Time.

Thats what I imagine most people would use them for. I know I would. What he said. Only in my voice. Otherwise that would be creepy. Over on the Adventures section of this board there was a campaign idea where the PCs turn up after the Doctor has left and have to deal with the fallout. A section on each story with "what happened next..." options would be cool here.

I'd settle for a pre Time War Classic Doctor Era boxed set that has notes on the styles of story in the show's first 3 decades

I agree about the lost episode thing. but redoing the classics could be fun to run just to see how the players react Mostly I'm interested in these boxes for Doctor and companion stats, enemies and aliens, and gadgets and vehicles.

I'm wondering how the 8th will be handled? I'd love to see him get his own book but... Maybe just padded out with a ton of adventures and seeds?
