If anyone's thinking of a piratical adventure, the Big Finish audioplay "Doctor Who and the Pirates" had a piratey harmonica version of the Who theme. Similarly, The Big Finish audioplay The Rapture had a dance/rave remix if your PCs go clubbing :-)

Actually, all the music in that was fun.

Posted this in the theme music thread, but putting it here as well in case anyone's looking for other incidental music. If anyone fancies using some of the Big Finish music, there's a deal on their site at the moment for soundtrack CDs 2-8 for £12 (should be £80): www.bigfinish.com/SPECIAL-OFFER-Doctor-Who-The-Music

It might come in handy for more than just Doctor Who games too, thanks for mentioning that Trevellian. ^_^

I'll probably be using Alistair Lock music for my FP game.

The Murray Gold music is good for role-playing. We used it when we playtested the Doctor Who RPG. However, watch out for the tracks with vocals. It sort of throws you off. Another suggestion for just general mood, turn on your computer speakers, go to www.pandora.com and select Hans Zimmer. You'll get movie soundtrack type music. It works pretty well for role-playing.

The Murray Gold music is good for role-playing Indeed. I haven't used it for Doctor Who yet, but I've used 'The Master Vainglorious' as the theme tune for one of the Big Bads in my ongoing Stargate campaign, and 'Midnight' worked very well for a race against time sequence to save an NPC from death by airlock.

Whenever we do science fiction roleplaying, we always put on the Half Life soundtracks for the action bits - although they may be a bit dark for some games.
