trying to create a tardis for my local table top game campaign to use..and iv'e run into a lil snag.....
in the "folks who know this stuff inside/out" opinion...would it be better to go with a Modern tardis and spend the points to upgrade the stats/ traits to something similar to the Advanced model? ((non military model..say a type 89 mk 6).... OR go with a type 100 ish Advanced Tardis and demilitarize it ((no Weapons...NO TVE ))..and replace that with some other trait?
near as i can tell..the only Non milatary elements i wont be able to upgrade the type 89 up to will be the armor and speed...how often do those actully come into play..and will the diffrence gap really be that much of an issue? thanks... PS.. campaign is for a Scion of Galifrey pilot working as an Joint agent go between with the Sisters of Karn and the Celistaial Intervention Agency.. most adventures will be "assigned (ie remote piloted by the CIA) missions with some downtime adventures in between. ).

I can't claim to be an expert on TARDIS design, but my thoughts are that it depends on what type of campaign you are intending to run and the format of the adventures.
If the TARDIS is to be used mainly to get from one point to another and the adventures take place outside it, then it doesn't really matter - go with whichever you prefer.
If however you're planning on adventures in which the TARDIS will feature heavily, with chases or combat with other vessels, then you'd probably be better going with the Advanced TARDIS and have the advantage of its Special level of Forcefield on top of its increased Armour.

thank you for the response and the advice. i was sorta thinking of running the group thru a mix of both types of adventures...in my head i see/saw a sort of doctor who meets torchwood meets Kingsman kinda of campaign.. with the Tardis being the groups kinda/sorta semi offical base of operations ...goin where/when needed and/or sent.

If the physical capabilities of your TARDIS must be known beyond a simple ruling by the GM, then design a TARDIS. But don't bother if those things aren't used regularly. No point doing the work if no one uses the result.
