Was just browsing some critter stats before bed and I realized the Doctor has ingenuity 9 and the master 10. Given a brand new time lord has a maximum ingenuity of 8 (before in game progress) and the doctor from what I recall was pretty low on the scale. Failed his exam first time, did worse than the master overall I wonder what the average experienced time lord's ingenuity is 10/11 (only slight differences) or considering a failure is 50 on the exam could we be looking at an average ingenuity for a successful time lord of anywhere from 10 to 18?

I don't recall anyone with an Ingenuity over 10 (even Rassilon was at this level). The generic 'Time Lord' stats (TTC175) list an Ingenuity of 6. A Cardinal (after 4-9 regenerations) has 9.

Ingenuity doesn't necessarily reflect exam performance. The Doctor may have done poorly on his exams because he failed to toe the party line on a number of issues.

I see thanks so the doctor/master are up at the pinacle of ingenuity for the timelords interesting.

According to the novels he deliberately got the minimum passing grade so that nobody would pay attention to him in later life.

Ah never read that, puts a different perspective on things thanks. So average newly graduated timelord is 6 and probably a range of 4-8 with experienced highly intelligent ones being 9-10.

Its worth noting that the First Doctor's Ingenuity is only 7. It doesn't hit 9 till he gains a lot more experience.
