I've not got so much pre-written stuff to offer for the 3rd Doctor:
Jeremy Fitzoliver from The Paradise of Death and The Ghosts of N-Space Iris Wildthyme, who appeared in the novel Verdigris - though I don't know if it's better to wait and include her in the 8th Doctor volume - let me know what you think
As I've already got stats for Jeremy, put me down for both of the radio stories - I'll possibly do something about N-Space itself, or alchemy maybe.

I love Iris (and Verdigris), so I might have contributions for that story. Since there are various regenerations of Iris across the range, she might worm her way into more than one sourcebook...

Oh good here I can preemptively claim Eye of the Giant and Scales of Injustice. Thank god someone else is handling Iris as I loathe her with a passion I hold for little else. I think Face of the Enemy ought to be covered here even though the Doctor doesn't appear and I'd like to handle that one as well.
I'm open to Dancing the Code/Speed of Flight and Who Killed Kennedy.
Also the BBC just put out a new 3rd Doctor book called Harvest of Time so that probably ought to be included.

From my initial skim through The Third Doctor Sourcebook, here are my suggestions for the Omitted But Not Forgotten section:
Day of the Daleks - The Controller Curse of Peladon - Alpha Centauri, Arcturus, King Peladon The Mutants - The Marshal The Time Monster - Queen Galleia Carnival of Monsters - Vorg and Shirna Planet of the Daleks - Thal Freedom Fighters The Green Death - BOSS

Kind of shocked a lot of those characters (BOSS and the characters from Peladon) aren't included! More for us, I guess.
Peladon can even be in the main entries since he's in one of the Companion Chronicles, Alpha Centauri too.

Also the BBC just put out a new 3rd Doctor book called Harvest of Time so that probably ought to be included. I'm in the middle of listening to the audiobook version of Harvest of Time. If nobody objects, I'd like to cover this one when we come to the Pertwee volume - it's an excellent story and there are several suitable concepts to include from this book: the Sild; two allies - the Red Queen and the Praxilions; plus a couple of locations - the Consolidator and Durlston Heath (the latter probably including a sidebar on the phenomenon of Time Fade).

Can I cover The Blue Tooth, Old Soldiers, The Rings of Ikaria, and Ghost in the Machine? There are several other audios and novels that I'd be up for but I want to see what Mr Harry wants to cover first.

Can I cover The Blue Tooth, Old Soldiers, The Rings of Ikaria, and Ghost in the Machine? There are several other audios and novels that I'd be up for but I want to see what Mr Harry wants to cover first. I've not got my eye on any of those, so be my guest! To be honest, for this one I've so far primarily been looking at some of the more "peripheral" sources - annuals, comic-strips, short stories and similar. I've a list of possible entries from these sources set aside. Of the more mainstream stories, the ones I've been hoping to cover are The Paradise of Death, The Ghosts of N-Space and Harvest of Time, and possibly Nightdreamers (though I'm aware of Siskoid's literary leanings, so maybe he wants to cover this latter one due to its Shakespearean influences?). As I mentioned before, I've already got a write-up for Iris Wildthyme, but I'm happy to leave anything else from Verdigris for Siskoid to cover as he's expressed an interest. I've not been thinking much beyond these yet so if you want to put your name forward for anything, go ahead.

Although I don't want to pull the focus away from finalising the 2nd Doctor volume, I thought it might be helpful if I listed the peripheral sources I mentioned in the post above:
COMICS: Countdown/TV Comic – Vogans (no relation!) Countdown/TV Action/TV Comic - Location: The Doctor’s cottage TV Comic - Arnold
ANNUALS: 1971 Annual (“The Mind Extractors”) - Extractors 1971 Annual (“The Ghouls of Grestonspey”) – The Zeld
SHORT STORIES: Decalog (“Prisoners of the Sun”) – Location: The Power Elite Timeline BBC Short Trips (“Freedom”) – Location: The Arbrocknel Construct BF Short Trips 1 (“The Switching”) – Gadget: Mind Transference Device BF Short Trips 14 (“Neptune” and “Sedna”) – The Siccati BF Short Trips 20 (“Midnight in the Café of the Black Madonna”) – The Crei BF Short Trips audios, volume 3 (“Pop-Up”) – Micro Service Robots The Spear of Destiny (Puffin e-short) – Gadget: The Spear of Destiny
VIDEOS: P.R.O.B.E. videos – Liz Shaw (the older Liz as a member of P.R.O.B.E.)

As to the "Omitted but Not Forgotten" candidates, all but the Thals are more akin to Plot Devices than NPCs in their own right and none of them interact with the Doctor & Jo in any manner that would require game mechanics. Certainly you would need a number to measure BOSS's Hypnosis but nothing more than that. For example, the Controller is not persuaded to change his collaborative stance by the Doctor, he lets the Doctor go to repay him for preventing the rebels from killing him. Peladon makes pretty speeches, moons over Jo and is taken hostage by Hepesh, all his actions are dictated by the plot hence the writers saw no reason to stat him.

That makes sense, and space is always at a premium. But you never know what a GM might want to do. Take the aforementioned Companion Chronicles, for example. Peladon, a little later in life, actually takes on companion status, helping the Doctor during yet another visit to the planet. Re-imagined as a campaign, a player would have decided to play Peladon, so what are the character's baseline stats?
Note that I never find humans or aliens with no special powers difficult to stat out. Same for an immobile computer villain. Very easy to stat and run. But you know how geeks are. Completists all.

They may have been plot devices in the stories as broadcast, but they would have to be more fully fledged characters for GMs to run them as adventures (with players being the unpredictable lot that they are - who knows how they'd would want to try to interact with those NPCs?). In the cases of Alpha Centauri and Arcturus, they're also representative of entire alien species, so it would have been good to have official stats for them.

Do you think the book could include my Nerve Strike trait version of Venusian Aikido / Karate as an alternative to the "use story points for this" approach presented in the official sourcebook ? (It was described here: ) dwaitas.proboards.com/thread/2050/venusian-karate

Just noticed that the lists are missing a couple of 3rd Doctor audios:
The Last Post (Companion Chronicle) - my suggestions: Dame Emily Shaw, Gadget/The Apocalypse Clock Vengeance of the Stones (Destiny of the Doctor) - my suggestion: the aliens (can't for the life of me recall their name)*
Also, the 3rd Doctor issue of the Prisoners of Time series from IDW Comics features an alien race called the Ramoraxians which could be included.
*EDIT: Just found a review which mentions they're from the planet Faris. So presumably they're Farians or some such.

I've another ally from the comics to propose: Theophilus Tolliver, who featured in The Eternal Present in TV Action. He only appeared in the one story but was quite distinctive and turned out to be the unnamed hero of H.G.Wells' The Time Machine.

If you've a suitable picture, then Iris Wildthyme (Beryl Reid incarnation).
Oh, and Alpha Centauri's gotta be on the cover!

Is it me, or are there fewer suitable cover images from the 3rd Doctor's books and audios? How about the Vogans from the Countdown and TV Comic strips? They're quite distinctive, but the problem is finding a picture of suitable quality - the best I can find are from the covers of Doctor Who Classic Comics: Doctor Who Classic Comics #1Doctor Who Classic Comics #27 (back cover)

Tell me more about the Beryl Reid Iris... purple hair and leather jacket? Do I have that right? How old is she supposed to look? Is this a younger comedy legend Beryl, or a color-corrected Earthshock Beryl with the patches PShopped off?

I'm also thinking an extremely cheeky and Paul Magrs thing to do would be to put Katy Manning's Iris on the cover (she does appear in an audio), but the Beryl Reid (easier to pull off in space given character pics) inside.

She's an old bag with frizzy lilac hair, a silver cardigan (or other shapeless coat) and a floppy felt hat. I'll send you a couple of images I've managed to find, but nothing particularly useable for the cover I'm afraid.

If so, I'd suggest an entry for Vina Monet. *In fact, another incarnation features.
