I, for one, rejoice in their absence

Come on everyone, those little (OK, maybe not so little now) homicidal pepper pots have had a really hard time these past few years; after all they took a hammering at the hands of Docs 9 & 10.
They need time to rest, recharge their batteries, time to smell the flowers..... and to plan a really big comeback plot ;D
Seriously a little or long break now and then just imagine the hype as rumors of their imminent return...

I welcome the absence of our would-be pepperpot overlords. Better to bring them back with a flourish than keep wheeling them out just because they are expected to be there.

I was saying they should be given a rest, not they will. Sorry I wasn't clearer on that point.

Mixed feeling.
I love the Daleks. But they should be used in a BIG way. And stop with the 'total destruction' endings. We know they'll come back so play off that.

Maybe with them gone for a while we can forget how pathetically easily they can be defeated - all you need is a biscuit these days.

But they got away won!
Thinking about this, Daleks have reached the point of "less is more". As in the Inverse Ninja Law, I can take one Dalek, or four, more seriously than ten thousand. It emphasises their individual threat and cleverness, making them villains rather than mooks.

The PCs in my campaign saw one dalek and were immediately terrified. That is how everyone should react when they show up. Maybe after their hiatus they will return genuinely scary, rather than having people making comparisons to power rangers. If Moffat does it, you know they will.

Completely agree. They need to bring them back in an awesome way not just out of force of habit. They need to come back as a credible threat not just as yearly wave of the plunger
