If only David had been like tom beaker and stayed in the role for 7or 8 seasons we would had the books out by now. And they would be on are shelves. but he didn't so they had to re bend the core.

The C7 newsletter is moving to next week instead of this week. I hope there is Doctor Who news this time.

What happens if they do release the 11th Doctor edition and the week after Matt Smith announces he is leaving? .... Or should I not joke about things like that?

This is becoming more and more likely, don't you think? www.tgdaily.com/entertainment/59234-matt-smith-is-leaving-doctor-whoThough how much veracity you can ascribe to these sources is debatable.

I'm hoping Smith is around through the 2013 series at least. I'm hoping the 11th Doctor edition [or series five edition] is out this year. I could see a case of BBC initiating rebranding for 2013 and issues being caused there.

This is a wee bit crazy though-although I know I go on about the FASA game that came out in 1983 two years after Tom left the show. However the covers for both games had Tom and Louise because the US audience were familiar with these characters. Ergo C7 should not have confined themselves to a 10th Doctor only branding for their first edition and should not be so limiting themselves with the next edition. All it will take is a few quick regenerations and we wil never see anymore products at this rate.

AFAIK the BBC have them on a tight leash on this one. C7 and everyone else producing Dr Who merchandise.

Any news this week?
Surely if the set is hitting the shops in April, we should have a release date and pre-orders by now?

Any news this week? Surely if the set is hitting the shops in April, we should have a release date and pre-orders by now? The latest newsletter [moving to this week] hasnt been released. But I'm not expecting any DWAITAS news. I really hope to be pleasantly surprised though.

The newsletter has just arrived and includes the following DWAITAS news:
We'll be reporting back on this in more detail very soon, but the Eleventh Doctor Edition of the game is in the process of going to press. The PDF should be ready in a couple of weeks. It's looking great, as is the Time Travellers Companion, for which it has been a delight going through all the classic series images. You'll see even more of these in Defending the Earth - the UNIT sourcebook.
With the release of the new edition, we'll be getting back on track with the long-awaited supplements, along with a host of so-far-unnanounced products. And then there's the 50th Anniversary... it's going to be a fantastic time for the game. So watch out for updates in future newsletters!
Pdf in a couple of weeks? Exciting news at last!

So, what does everyone think will "most likely" be the time frame for these books to be released? ...especially now with the word thrown out that Matt Smith will "very possibly" be leaving the show in 2013.

As I posted up over on RPG.net, fear not, as the new Core Box was finished some time ago and should be headed off to print soon. For those with the 10th Doctor box, there are a few minor tweaks, new monsters, a few clarifications, etc. but nothing that will make the old box incompatible. And for those with the old box, a PDF update is planned for release for the low low price of no money whatsoever, as far as I know.
As for other products, I'm close to finished with the TTC. I've written an extra chapter and am finishing the layout for that today or tomorrow, after which I just have to design the cards, the TARDIs sheet and fill out the character sheets for the 11 Doctors (which is actually next on my list).
It takes a while folks. there's no way around it. the TTC is a good example. I have to pull all the imagery and the player's guide alone has 100+ pictures, so it takes time, as you might imagine. Layout takes time, and editing is not all that swift either. Then there's the labyrinthine approvals process, which can take any amount of time. Still, things are afoot and you have real reson to feel like there's a light (on top of a TARDIS) at the end of the tunnel...
