Hullo, Omega, folks, Aliens & Creatures in available at most good online retailers for PDF download. Contains (unconfirmed) all of 9 & 10's foes, Alien traits & rules and a planet & system generator for the game.As one who pre-ordered the boxed set from Cubicle 7, I just received my download code and all for the Aliens and Creatures boxed set yesterday, so I downloaded it and spent a geeky few hours perusing it. Wow!! While I was disappointed not to see any material for Classic foes, I was very surprised to see the stats for Telos/Mondas Cybermen, and absolutely *love* the star system/world/race generator system!! I also noticed some glitches, and places where I would disagree on a few stats, but suspect that a whole bunch of people are ahead of me in submitting these errata. Great stuff, guys! The Cubicle 7 folks should be proud, and I look forward to the physical box when it comes out! If this one is anything to go by, the UNIT boxed set should be bloody brilliant! Curious. What stats did you feel had glitches? I wrote for a small chunk of the book...lol

Granted, th write-up does say it is for major villain Daleks, but... I think I'd have put the gold vulnerability of Mondasian/Telosian Cybermen as optional. In Tenth planet, wheel in space, and The Invasion, they have no such weakness. It isnt until Revenge of the Cybermen that the gold weakness appears, IIRC. Overall, it is a great book!

The old Who Cybermen just covered the Earthshock/Silver Nemesis style Cybermen. The first two you mentioned were actually vulnerable to radiation.

Planet generator? COOL, but, no 5 series monsters???No new Daleks???No new Weeping Angels? All this delay for what?? Fail! Why Adipose?? I don't mind the adipose. They were cute and fun. But I mind that we don't get adult adipose - just the babies. There are some serious holes in the set unfortunately. I also wasn't expecting throw-away NPCs like the Editor from Station 5 to be included. I mean he's a human with no special characteristics, he's specific to a particular storyline, and he's dead! If you've seen the episode, then you already know everything you need to know to run him if you want to. If you haven't seen the episode, then the sparse details in this set wont be enough. There's some great work on the adventures booklet (Rosetta Plague is everything a DW adventure should be), but the main book should have lost a lot of the repetition (Judoon commanders and troopers with a couple of minor attribute changes and all of their traits etc. repeated), all of the NPCs and stuffed it full of as much Nu Who and Classic Who as they could. We'd all be complaining about how they ommitted the Myrka or whatever, but that's fine, we'd all be itching for A&CII to complete the set and we'd have lots more to play with in the meantime. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I would have bought it knowing what it was like still, but it didn't meet my expectations. Sorry. K.

I don't mind the adipose. They were cute and fun. But I mind that we don't get adult adipose - just the babies. As the series has never shown an adult Adipose, what would the game designers base a write-up on? At the risk of sounding facetious, they'd base it on the baby adipose. What I wanted from this set was stuff for my own adventures. To take the adipose as an example, all I can do with that is run episodes like Partners in Crime where there are baby adipose running around. The book reads far more like an episode guide than it does a game supplement. I wanted the latter. Put aside that this is based on TV series for a second and ask yourself, if you bought a supplement for any other game, whether you'd think it good for a creature entry to say: "baby ones are like this, we don't know what the adult ones are like, best stick to adventures where they keep finding baby ones and never meet adults". Or for an entry to say "this is some guy who runs a news station. He got eaten." I don't mean to pour cold water on this. There's good stuff in there.

Sorry to hear that the book is like an episode guide. I was hoping it wasn't, because that kind of information is readily available online.
As for adult Adipose, I don't suppose the writers could have suggested using your imagination for the adult ones, or just offering suggestions? That's one of the reason I really like the newest Dungeon Master's Guide. It's full of just amazing advice and suggestions beyond simple stats. I hope that sort of outside the box thinking will find its way into this game as well.

The adipose entry is really quite weird. The adipose babies are statted (they're almost 1 in all attributes and have no skills or traits). The text has stuff that's not in the series - it says adipose are hard to kill because their nervous system can be implanted into other bodies. It also suggests that the adipose may be one individual spread across millions of bodies. So the entry for adipose does contain ideas for what the adults may be like. And yet no adults. It's like the ideas are there, but they don't feel they're allowed to actually implement them.
Anyway, I'd judge for yourself. This is just my take on the book.

Angus has received some advance copies of the Alien and Creatures set. Dom is to have a sample copy on display at Gen Con.
