Has anyone ever considered a TimeLord Academy Campaign?
Perhaps it might get a bit Harry Potter for some, but I'd be interested in hearing ideas about the various academic groups on Galliffrey, before the Time War.. From whoniverse.org, it seems that there are multiple houses, and chapters in the academic life. To me that sounds like a Harry Potter sort of thing, but I'm American, so i'd guess that it is simply similar to standard academics in Great Brittain (school me if you will).
In particular, if there are any resources on the culture of gallifrey, that would be awesome.. I'm quite interested in running campaigns on Gallifrey, in say, the dark times, or at other points in the past.

Hi lomythica, Interesting idea, but as you say, probably a bit too Harry Potter for my liking. Incidentally, don't know if you're aware, but one of the suggestions for a Doctor Who spin-off that RTD turned down was (apparently) a sort of "Young Doctor Who", which I imagine would have been based around his time at the Academy. The Academy has featured in some of the spin-off books - in particular, Divided Loyalties - so you might want to seek that one out. Though the Doctor and the other students are all portrayed as being mature - physically at least. According to this version, the Doctor was a contemporary of many of the other significant Time Lords from the classic series - the Master, the Rani, the Monk, Drax, the War Chief, etc. Not sure that I like this idea... You might also want to check out this website: meshyfish.com/~roo/index.htmlIt provides a detailed history of Gallifrey, with information from books, audios, etc as well as the TV series. And there's a page covering Time Lord biology, sociology, etc.

Thanks for the resource!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Moreso than focusing on attending academy, focusing on culture on Gallifrey was my primary goal. With these resources, I should be able to make a suitably detailed gallifrey for players to roleplay in.
Thanks again!
Matt

Houses are very much a part of British high school at least, particularly boarding schools. They can be thought of as a sort of PG version of an American University fraternity with waay more adult interference supervision.

I read this thread a couple of days ago. At first I dismissed the idea, but the idea has been niggling at me. Not sure it would work as a long campaign but I think for a couple of adventures it could be fun.

Consider the Big Finish series "Gallifrey". A sub bplot of that is built arround the Accademy
Chapters are part of the structure of the Accademy. Houses relate to the Genetic Looms of Gallifrey
