Any news of a hard copy release date?

I could be bitter and sarcastic and say Christmas 2012. But instead I'll be hopeful and say November 2011 for Aliens & Creatures - they've got a printer's copy across at GenCon at the moment.

Any word at Gencon about a date for the rebranded core? I know that whatever date they give, we have to add 6 months to it, but it would be nice to get an estimate from the official folks.
After all, it's gencon. If you don't have a shiny new release to sell, you should at least have some enticing announcements!

I've no idea what (if anything) has been announced at Gencon, but C7 had previously stated a November release for the rebranded core set plus the Matt Smith GM's screen. That was the position as at the end of June.

Thanks, Harry. I hope the new core book makes it out before there are any more changes (I hear that the TARDIS control room is getting an overhaul, hopefully that is the only change between seasons 5 and 6)

It would be so much easier to do the RPG if Who wasn't on TV. No pesky changes of actor, no changes of set, no irksome writers changing how the monsters work....
I've not had enough coffee today.

A smaller turnaround time on the merchandise might also do the game some good. I expect there to be little to no problem with the "Past Doctor" books, for the reason you cited, it is all about things that are well in the past

If it helps any I have held a copy of Aliens and Creatures in my own hands not last week!
Dom had 2 preview copies from the printer we took to Gen-Con with us. The rest are on the slow boat from China, so it shouldn't be too long now.
It looks damn fine.

More delays - looking at late September now according to the thread on the Cubicle 7 forums. Glad I printed my PDFs out.

Not too surprising to be honest.
I don't know whether it's connected - I can't get into the C7 website from work to read the announcement - but there's a bit of a furore about a Delta Green supplement for Call of Cthulhu that was paid for two years ago by the fundable pre-order method. It finally came back from the printers earlier this month and copies were on sale at GenCon. But those of us who actually shelled out our money in 2008 to make it happen have yet to receive our copies - in fact, they've not even been despatched from the warehouse. The reason I mention this is that Arc Dream, the publishers of the Delta Green supplement, recently switched to using Cubicle 7's warehouse, and they're not coping with the volume of back orders. So I'm guessing that there may be general delays with C7 products at the moment as a knock-on effect.

What I find interesting is that other big shipments from the warehouse [Legends of Anglerre, Regime Diabolique and a few others I cant remember] all made it out of the warehouse and in a relatively timely manner. Yet DG isnt moving. Makes me think the fault isnt in the warehouse, but in Arc Dream.

Delays don't bother me too much - the nature of the campaign I'm running, Faction Paradox, it isn't alien-heavy and characters won't be appearing in any supplement that Cubicle 7 bring out (separate rights issues). So while I do want them for when I may run a normal Who style game, I'm not fussed on when they come out.

Is there any word at all on the Time Traveller's Companion?
Any chance it will be available at least as a PDF in the near-ish future?

That would be lurvely but I doubt we'll see it till after the new version of the core comes out (i.e. when they've finalised the new look).

I would bet that A and C is a real small print run - grab it while you can folks (probably a few more weeks yet) because it will be rebranded before you know it.
Then after the Core rules are rebranded, the Screen will be rebranded.
Don't expect any new stuff like the TTC or UNIT for a LONG while.
Of course, the above is mere speculation, but I would bet I'm close to the mark.

Surprised not to see this reported here yet, but here's the latest on the whereabouts of the physical version of Aliens & Creatures as stated by C7 on their forum last week: I guess I should be used to the continual disappointments by now. And when asked about timescales for any of the other supplements:

Ha!
So a couple of weeks ago it was 'looking like late September guys' now it's 'November - perhaps late October'
This is just SO frustrating.
This is my prediction:
Look for it in December - at the earliest!
This is so NOT the way to gather support and momentum for a game - or any product come to that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - we won't see ANYTHING else until the rebranding settles down.
So until the new Core rules are in the shops, everything else is pie in the sky.
The covers and images for UNIT/Time Traveller's Companion will NEVER see the light of day.

So, the rebranding doesn't fly as an excuse for A&C at the very least. And still no excuse for the utter lack of communication from C7 on their own forum, despite being asked weeks ago. Cubicle 7 are on Facebook, as is Angus. Another source of information. For whatever reasons, some publications have been delayed. In fairness, C7 is a small company run day to day by two men; Angus and Dom. Give them a bit of a break and a little patience. Aliens and Monsters has been printed and pre-orders should be dispatched soon. The others should follow soon. Angus has said that the publications have unfortunately been delayed and he has apologised. He hopes things will run more smoothly in 2011. (As another poster has said, Angus and Dom moved their company from Finchley to Swindon, which also included Angus and Dom moving home also; at least Angus anyway. They are now settled down in the offices of Mongoose Publishing.)

You're responding in October to something I said at the beginning of June? Do you work for Cubicle 7? FYI, I've given them a little patience. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I've given them a lot of patience, given I pre-ordered in January ... Looking forward to your reply in 2011

I've said it before and I'll say it again - we won't see ANYTHING else until the rebranding settles down. Agreed. Though as the Doctor Who rebranding took place back in April (and was known about for some months before that), I can't really see how rebranding is continuing to have an impact 6 months later. Ah well, I guess we'll get A&C at some point, but as Kaemaril has said, those of us who preordered towards the beginning of the year in expectation of a March/April release have shown a lot of patience towards C7 already. I understand that delays like this are fairly common for the RPG industry, but that doesn't make it right or something we should be happy about.

Based on past versions of the Doctor Who game, do we really need rebranding with the current Doctor?? Why not just put in various TARDIS covers or Cover paintings like Fasa did? I remember one adventure book for Doctor Who by Fasa called the Ytean Menace did not have the TARDIS or the Doctor on the cover, it was a old Victorian era photo. For the Time Travelers Boxed Set make the cover be a photo shot of the current TARDIS Console room interior. For UNIT boxed set use the UNIT Emblem.
Besides it would suck if the next few boxed sets are made and we have another regeneration because some other gig has grabbed the attention of Matt Smith.
My two cents. Mark
