This might perhaps belong under GM resources, but as it has to do with stories, I'll post it here. In its *very* long history, Doctor Who has had hundreds of scripts, both submitted and comissioned, and only a handful of them were actually produced. Hidden Planet gives a brief overview of as many of those Lost Scripts as it can. It is a goldmine of adventure and campaign ideas, and I'll confess to having stolen one the Hartnell Robin Hood romp for my own upcoming campaign. homepage.ntlworld.com/thebatgranny/

And Big Finish is just starting its audio adaptation of many Lost Stories. It's first run is a faux Season 23 of a selection of 6th Doctor stories (and other ideas from that era) that were superseded by The Trial Of A Time Lord. The first story - The Nightmare Fair, featuring the return of The Celestial Toymaker - is already available. Then towards the end of 2010, they are releasing a selection of First and Second Doctor era stories, as well as a run of Seventh Doctor ones ( which, I believe, are stories that were intended to continue the show after Survival). A couple of these lost scripts ( which are being adapted by Big Finish) are available in a really great book from Nothing At The End Of The Lane: www.nothing-lane.co.uk/scriptbook.php

Those must be some really big hands that somebody's got ... Great site!

And apart from The Dark Dimension, it doesn't appear to list the various scripts for a Doctor Who film that preceded the Eighth Doctor's appearance for one nigth only, as catalogued in depth in The Nth Doctor.

Shamefully, I've never read the Nth Doctor... As an examination of the the not-quite future of the series, it was definitely worth the £3.50 it cost me from eBay. For idea-grabbing, there are really four stories in it, tweaked and reworked in various versions. There are also the several unmade episodes of the Tenth Doctor's adventures as discussed in The Writer's Tale. Which apparently has a new edition running 300 pages longer which I have to buy now. Damn. (Check out the extract - it's 56 pages in itself.) It's also hilarious in places, and illustrated by Davies's own illustrations - worth seeing for the original Shadow Proclamation alone.

I had no idea they'd revised that. Gotta grab it up in January, then. Should make for interesting reading (the first edition certainly did). I wonder if Benjamin Cook and Moffat are, even now, discussing the remaking of Who?

Y'know... I hate making statements without my reference materials in front of me... As it turns out, I *have* the Nth Doctor after all. I don't have The Writer's Tale though...

Oddly enough, I'm borrowing elements from one of the scripts in Nth Doctor (or, to put it less diplomatically, ripping off the basic idea) in my 8th Doctor campaign.
