Here's what I've kind of got planned so far (I have posted this on RPG Geek btw).
Depending on how ready my adventures are I may switch the order, but I'm trying to not have Earth adventures back to back. And no underlying story arc as of yet, but maybe a recurring villain in Moriarty.
2 Minutes
Sherlock Holmes investigates murder on the streets on London in 1880.
The use of Sherlock Holmes has nothing to do with the new movie, rather it is because I know one of the players is both a Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes fan.
The idea is for the PC Time Lord to be Sherlock Holmes, with the TARDIS disguised as 221B Baker Street. A renegade Time Lord, Moriarty, is killing people, stealing their brain patterns (leaves a circular mark on their forehead) to try and make the ultimate hypnosis device. Moriarty has a Time Ship hovering over London two minutes into the future. There is a teleport station hidden in the sewers which the PCs should find.
The idea is for the PCs to discover the cause of the murders and Moriarty's ship, get aboard and destroy it. Before the ship explodes it will unleash time energy that will destroy London! The PCs now have two minutes to get back to Earth and either a) use TARDIS shields to defend London, or b) have the Time Lord absorb the time energy and regenerate. I'll use (b) if the player takes the experienced Time Lord Trait, this is how he loses his first life.
No Earth!
Something is wrong. The TARDIS crew return to Earth to discover it is gone, and has been missing for hundreds of years! The PCs are able to go back in time and discover a Judoon destructor fleet about to destroy the Earth to make way for a new hyperspace by-pass (yes, very Hitch-Hikers). The Judoon, being an officious lot say they they’re only following instructions as per the Medusa Cascade.
PCs must negotiate with the Judoon to delay while they travel to the Medusa Cascade where they discover the order was made by a vengeful Slitheen, the cousin of those killed in London. PCs must track down and reveal the imposter as a Slitheen in order to stop the Earth destruction order.
Terror of the Delph
The year is 1910, and an ancient race wakes from it's millennia slumber intent on reclaiming the Earth!
This is going to be set in my home town of Brierley Hill, England, the heart of the Black Country. I’m going to have the PCs TARDIS materialise in the back garden of what is now my house, which was build in 1900. They discover the house empty (the occupants have fled through fear). Investigating they discover that something in the mines is killing miners (the whole area where I live was mines back then).
The miners have accidentally awoken a sect of Silurians who, like in the previous Doctor Who adventures, want to reclaim the Earth as their own. The Silurians have an abomination called a Delph, a kind of mutated Myrka (the main street down to the old mines is call Delph Road). The area is great setting as the canals would have been in heavy use back then too, so Silurian rising up from tha canals should make a nice scene.
I’ll probably end up throwing in a load of army grunts too, possibly a Captain Yates, great-grandfather to the famous Captain Yates of the Pertwee era. Should end up with the army sealing the Silurians into the mine and the Delph disappearing into the canals, where it may still lurk today, muwahahahahahaaaa… Err.. hang on, I live by that canal.
The Menacers
This is going to be a version of The War Machines, not sure if I’m going to set it on Earth or not yet, I don’t want too many Earth bound stories. Basically I want to come up with my own monster, and The Menacers are going to be it. Don’t have much more plotted out for this yet though. I may well bring Moriarty back in this story.
Renaissance of the Daleks
Again, nothing too plotted out yet but I want a Dalek story. I’m going to run a version of the Peter Davison story Ressurection of the Daleks with the Daleks trying to find the cure to a disease that is harming them. Rather than modern day Earth I’m going to have the Earth based Dalek in Renaissance Europe. I’m thinking of Spain, and having a Dalek controlling the Spanish Inquisition. No one suspects the Spanish Inquisition!
The Cyber-Hound of the Baskervilles
I want a return to the Sherlock Holmes theme. My story won’t have so many twists as the original plot, but is basically the same. An heir to the Baskerville estate is killing off all other potential heirs. The hound of the story though is going to be a Cyber-Shade that has somehow fallen through time and ended up on Dartmoor and is being controlled by the vilain of the piece.
Hopefully this will play out as a murder mystery and will eventually lead to the lair of the cyber-shade.
