FINAL VERSION!This (72dpi preview graphic) is the final version, unless anyone spots anything untoward or has any final comments, suggestions (apart from area of expertise ), thoughts, etc. I'm not particularly up on free hosting sites, so if anyone can recommend a good one? In the meantime, if you'd like a copy of the PDF (produced using Scribus, Inkscape and Macromedia Fireworks. All graphics 200DPI) please PM me and I'll mail you a copy. Finally, MAJOR THANKS for Mr. rsaintjohn for the superb background graphic he so kindly provided. I'll move this over to the proper place for character sheets in a day or so, once enough eyes have spotted the glaring errors and I've fixed them

Nice job, Kaemaril! I might use this as my main character sheet for the game if and when I get round to running it up at the RP society. ;D

We can host it here -theres a function to add attachments in the resources area. That would be great, but the file is 1.32mb (all those 200dpi graphics add up, I guess ;D ) ... is that too big? Edit: Thought I'd give Google Docs a try, so I uploaded it. It's accessible to anyone (hopefully!) via this link. Could somebody give it a try and see if it works? It works for me (obviously), but you never know ... edit : changed link to corrected version.

Uh, just noticed something I must have missed when I looked at it before. You seem to have an extra 'Awareness' in the skills list, and no 'Survival'.

And that was literally staring me in the face, too, 'cos I checked, double-checked, and then triple-checked everything ... but somehow didn't see it. Thank you. I've uploaded a corrected version to Google Docs (I think ...) The link is here.

Wow, OK...a lot's happened since I last dropped in.
FWIW, all I meant with the Tech Level tracker idea was a single row for the TL, beneath which the player could write in the penalty that applied for the character at each TL.
I do think it's a shame there's no Areas of Expertise - I find the skill system to be far too broad without them. However, I do ignore the (pointless IMO) 'minimum skill 3+' rule, which means AoEs always allow greater distinction between characters. Used this way, AoEs also help break up the ridiculously broad all-skills like Craft.
Overall, I think the sheet has an interesting look (and is much less garish than the official one). However, it's missing the crucial functionality I'd be looking for to use it during play. In fairness, the official sheet (as seems to be the norm in the RPG hobby) also lacks this functionality. In virtually every RPG I've ever played, my character sheet has ended up being handwritten on a page of ordinary A4 paper.

FWIW, all I meant with the Tech Level tracker idea was a single row for the TL, beneath which the player could write in the penalty that applied for the character at each TL. But what if the character has two or three Time Traveller traits? I agree with you on the 3+ rule. I'll have a think about what to do about AOE, but I'm not getting rid of my lovely hexagons! And with them in place if I put a little box or a line to the right of them then: A) The two columns will not be aligned, which personally I'm a fan of B) More importantly, you're cutting down on space for traits C) How wide should that line be? If it's too wide you've got a real problem with B, if too narrow nobody can write in it and it becomes pointless ... I'll have to have a think for version 2 ... It's the hexagon effect ... people dig hexagons. And so do bees, so I'm doing my bit to get the bees to return to the planet The AWESOME background from rsaintjohn doesn't hurt either

But what if the character has two or three Time Traveller traits? Not a problem. At any given Tech Level, and for any given character, only one penalty is going to apply. For instance, a TL5 character has Time Traveller for TL 3 and TL8. Their penalty for TL4 will always be -1 (based on a 'home' of TL5). Using TL7 equipment would also be at -1, based on a 'home' of TL8 (rather than the -4 they would have from a TL5 'home', or the -8 from using TL3 as the base). I think having a tracker on the character sheet would be especially advantageous for those with multiple Time Traveller Traits. It gets rid of having to work out the smallest possible penalty for a given TL. You're thinking of Ug the Caveman, I take it?

If it's alright, I'm going to link to this in the DW RPG review (along with two other character sheets). It's fantastic!

Hey Kaemaril, are you a member over at Geekdo (RPG Geek)? If so, you should upload it there at the DWAITS listing. If not, let me know and I will add it.

It's very pretty but all that grey in the background does look rather unfriendly to printers.

It's very pretty but all that grey in the background does look rather unfriendly to printers. I'm not sure but I think the current version of Scribus can maybe produce a layered PDF - if so, I can do a version where you can choose to switch off the background layer for printing. I'm looking into that. If it can't it's easy enough for me to do a background-free version. It's almost a crime to omit that lovely background, though. rsaintjohn does excellent work

Yup, checked the docs I've got and Scribus can indeed export to PDF 1.5, and thus supports layers. I'm at work at the moment, when I get home tonight I'll upload a new version where you can switch off the background.

Version 1.01, where the background can be switched off*, has now been made available in this thread: New Unofficial Character Sheet. * Though why you'd want to switch it off, and deprive yourself of the awesome background by rsaintjohn, is beyond me ;D

Excellent sheet (I think I said this already)...
Any chance of including some boxes for marking off reduced stats (due to injury, failed rolls etc.)?
