•The known sole existing Tardis, a Type 73 pre-Time War model, is pre-programmed by a player character's grandfather with a directive: to find and rebuild the Time Lord race. In order to do so, it must seek out and find any and all humanoids with Gallifreyan DNA strands. It is sufficiently advanced enough to travel to multiple worlds and times thus making it appear that when the player characters meet each other, it will be at the same time. The template to get the characters to help will be The Doctor (in multiple regenerations as a hologram). He is approachable and authoritarian. His key phrase will be ‘Can you help me?’
•This is for two purposes: firstly, The Tardis will not properly function until a full ratio of Time Lord DNA is set into the configuration matrix. This will also however mean something unprecedented will happen. A Tardis will respond and react to more than one owner. As the Type 73 is near-sentient as is, it may well begin to manifest in its operations to express emotions. Any of these beings who stays with and bonds to the Tardis will also manifest the ability to see the Vortex, the nature of Time itself.
•The normal test was to confront the Vortex as part of a Time Lord’s training, and some went insane, like the Master. In this case it will be a black hole.
•The theme of the first ‘season’ is family. In all its forms, in all its diversity. The player characters represent the very best of all the Time Lords could be. This is in direct response to the situation of the Doctor, who continually remains alone and removed from anything that is not a Time Lord.
•The connection to the Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood shared continuity is Earth. The Tardis, having its own agenda, will seek out Earth as the Doctor continually visits there, his Artron energy signature resonates there. (This will lead into an adventure, Hunted, where agencies will be competing to capture the aliens and the alien Tardis for themselves or to protect them. A struggle will eventuate between UNIT, and Sarah Jane Smith.)
•Should the events of The End of Time eventuate in the return of the Time Lords, the player characters, their Tardis, any connection to any family line of Gallifrey will be stricken from the record and considered renegade.
•The characters will be recognized by time-sensitive races; they will be referred to as ‘The First and the Last’, being the first of a new Time Lord hybrid race and the very last strains of the original. This will make them revered, feared, and respected. Even The Doctor, believing that a Time Lord/human metacrisis (a hybrid race) is either lethal (Donna Noble) or dangerous (his own clone self) will have serious reservations about their existence. The Tardis, however, will seek to take all of his DNA to complete the program.
The villains here will be the Autons! In order to expand the Nestine Consciousness, they wish to exploit the 'garbage island' that is currently floating in the Pacific ocean, currently the size of Texas and comprised primarily of...you guessed it, plastic. They want to develop a 'superconsciousness' that would then use the Networking Special Trait to manifest in the otherwise dormant plastic on Earth and bond with the native lifeform, humans. This can go through cellphones, appliances...keyboards....
