In the Absence of Light OR The Peter Pan Effect
Plot: Earth. 24th May. Current year: 20XX. After a few weeks of some inactivity (at least, in the extra-terrestial sense) humanity finds itself confronted with a strange new fact. Seemingly overnight, the entire human race wakes to discover that they no longer possess shadows. Is this the end result from some attack by an alien force? A new physical law brought on by some strange quirk of reality? Or possibly a warning of things to come? It's up to your PCs to discover the truth... By doing some research, your PCs may come to a few deductions. * Humans appear to be the only organisms suffering from this strange phenomenon. Animals and other inorganic material appear to be unaffected. Interestingly enough, those species alien to Earth but are otherwise humanoid in nature such as the Ice Warriors, your average Time Lord, etc. are also not affected. * Although this occurrence has affected every human across the globe, in terms of time zones it seems this phenomena follows the measurement of Greenwich Mean Time. With the event beginning immediately as soon as day broke on the 25th May in the UK and then simultaneously occurring across the globe. * Some people who have been interviewed have been complaining of feeling lethargic with many of them on the brink of collapse. It is yet still unknown whether this is a side effect of the process which has robbed humanity of its shadows. Ideally, this scenario would be perfect for a UNIT/Torchwood game although it can be used for a traditional Time Lord/TARDIS game as well. Any ideas or contributions would be most welcome.
