The DWRPG (or rather, its predecessor DWAITAS) gets an intriguing but passing mention in an article about Big Finish's incarnations of the Meddling Monk in the latest issue of DWM (#576). Rufus Hound mentions that his first exposure to classic Who was when he was appearing in One Man, Two Guvnors in 2013. Apparently, somebody working at the Haymarket Theatre was working on the RPG and gave him a copy of what he says was "the first version of the player guide" which, he says, was for the First Doctor. Given the date of this, I imagine it was actually The First Doctor Sourcebook, which was released in 2013, and the person who gave it to him was most likely either the writers Darren Pearce or Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan (though I suspect the latter was already full-time on Cubicle 7 way before then). But anyway, when Rufus was cast as the Monk by Big Finish in 2015, all he knew about the Monk came from his reading of the sourcebook.

Read that the other day and did wonder what the backstory was.
