So I've been playing around on perchance.org - where you can use basic coding to create simple (or very complex) random generators. Here's a quick one I put together for Doctor Who. It could stand to have more added to it, but it's a fun little toy to start with. The best one I've done is the Impossible Mission generator, which actually might work pretty well for a modern-day UNIT-focused game.

Hmmmm.
Where does the TARDIS land?
- In the control room of a Dalek spaceship
OK. That’s probably not good, at least if there are Daleks there.
Why did it bring you here?
- You were drawn here by a distress signal
OK. This sounds like D10/D11 craziness. Unless s/he didn't know it was the Command Saucer of a Dalek fleet.
What historical figure is involved? Hmm. Did she stow away? Is there a Dalek time corridor in operation?
What villain or nefarious force is here causing trouble?
- The Dalek Emperor, in person.
Ah yes. But which Emperor?
What do they want?
- To rewrite history so that they retroactively always ruled the Earth
Meh, passé. So was JA brought along for this purpose?
What item might help defeat the villain? Now that’s just weird.
So here goes. The Dalek Emperor is alone, almost all of the surviving Daleks having been killed off by a superweapon (Movellan deployment of an experimental Gallifreyan temporal femtovrius?). But he has a plan to rewrite history. Inspired by study of human culture, via it’s “Great Novels”. He plans to infiltrate Georgian society by replacing prominent figures by Dalek duplicates, reasoning that the formality of the era will help cover any problems in their manners until control has been achieved. Onece the British Empire is compromised he plans to play the other powers off against each other while creating new Daleks and establishing a power base in Britain. A few Daleks attempted to kidnap JA but she saw them and fled into the TARDIS, which was attracted to the period by the signature of the Dalek time corridor, creating a minor temporal snarl1.
So the Emperor fakes a distress signal to attract the TARDIS and lets them roam the empty Command Saucer until his team have returned and the travellers can be isolated from their TARDIS. But the Daleks are few in numbers, until they establish a new base, so if the the Krynoid seed pods (which the travellers saved the previous world from, so an earlier adventure is needed) are released they can create a distraction and obstruct the Daleks long enough to escape, with Jane Austen. Lesbian experimentation optional2.
How's that? I like the generator.
1. Oh well that’s time travel.
2. Well more compulsory for my players.....

Thanks!
There’s so much more Perchance can do - this is a simple one.

Thanks! It's a nice system for triggering ideas, I'll try a couple more later today, meetings permitting.
