These are a guide (use your own judgement) to converting the first edition to the second and includes info that was left out of the Corebook. I hope you find it useful.
CONVERTING TRAITS
With the GM's permission, a character Gains Advantage or Disadvantage when in situations relevant to that former Trait. Something that Gains Advantage or Disadvantage should be listed as part of the character description and a GM should award Story Points for roleplaying these.
My advice is that any Trait that gives a +2 bonus should be converted into a Skill Specialisation if possible.
1st Edition Trait 2nd Edition
Arrogant Gains Advantage to resit fear and hopelessness, Gains Disadvantage to social interaction with those they consider to be inferior
Attractive Gains Advantage with Convince tests in relevant social situations
Biochemical Genius Distinction: gain Science Skill Specialisations in Biology and Chemistry and is also able to use Science Skill to create 'gadgets'
Boffin N/A. Anyone with the Technology Skill and relevant background can now create gadgets.
Brave Gains Advantage
Charming Specialisation: Convince (Charm)
Empathic Specialisation: Intuition (Empathy)
Face In The Crowd Gains Advantage to blend in and be unremarkable
Fast Healing (Major) Distinction
Friends Gains Advantage
Hot Shot Specialisation: Transport (Combat Piloting/Driving/etc.)
Hypnosis (Minor) Specialisation: Convince (Hypnosis)
Hypnosis (Major) Specialisation: Convince (Hypnosis) plus Gains Advantage to make someone do something against their nature
Indomitable Gains Advantage (Note:The +4 to defend against possession is defunct, as aliens no longer get the +4 bonus To Possess).
Keen Senses Gains Advantage or Specialisation: Intuition (Sense)
Lucky Gains Advantage
Military Rank Distinction or description
Noble Gains Advantage and/or Specialisation: Convince (Formal Etiquette)
Owed Favour Description
Percussive Maintenance Gains Advantage
Photographic Memory Gains Advantage
Psychic Training Gains Advantage against psychic powers, sees through psychic illusions. Can be part of a Distinction or profession
