explorer john chabot could be the subject of a Marco Polo like adventure. Or a psuedo historical with aliens based of his descriptions of creatures. Maybe he could be part of a historical explorers society full of famous explorers?.

His somewhat famous Final Voyage is an interesting basis for a scenario. Certainly it has elements suited to a larger, long term plot with someone within the court of Henry VII pushing for more support for Cabot. Perhaps they are reminded Henry about Cabot after the Cornish business was settled (or is that linked somehow?
- If you're going to involve matters in Cornwall there are a few ideas to remember:
- The renegade Time Agent Morgana may have left some items behind (Knight of the Comet).
- There are those odd tunnels, as featured in The Spectre of Lanyon Moor.
- As I mentioned elsewhere there is uranium in Cornwall, mixed with some tin ores.
I rather like the idea that someone is trying to get to North America and hence manipulates Cabot and his backers. Might there be a spacecraft or time ship in (say) Newfoundland.
There is much speculation about Cabot's Last Expedition and what exactly happened to it. Did it disappear into an Atlantic storm? Did Cabot and his four ships make it across the North Altantic in the summer of 1498? If so why is the historical record silent on this matter?
- This is an actual historical oddity. While there is some modern research suggesting Cabot made it back to England and was in London in 1500 there is none of the splash that similar voyages made in other countries' records. It's as if someone wanted the voyage erased from history....
