Hi, everyone! It’s been a while since I did one of these short fanfics based on my Kanya Campaign. Anyways, I wanted to give you all a little sneak peek at what to expect from the next session and a hint of what the latest companion will be like. Consider this something akin to “Friend from the Future” when Bill Potts was introduced; a little look into the future while still being non-canonical. Enjoy and let me know if I should do more of these:
SNEAK PEEK:
Kanya hid behind the corner of a wall as a young man joined her. He seemed to be in his early-twenties and had wavy brown hair and brown eyes. He was currently dressed in a red-black-and-white checkered long-sleeved buttoned shirt, black jeans, and white sneakers. The young man leaned in to whisper to her.
“So what are those things?!” He questioned.
“The Weeping Angels.” Kanya responded, “I met ‘em long ago. I was a completely different woman then.”
The young man rolled his eyes. The Time Lady was both annoying as she was remarkable. But that’s why he stayed with her. She was the same and different all-in-one. He thought it was a nice balance.
“They’re statues that can move whenever you’re not looking at them.” Kanya pointed out, “On detection, they’re quantum-locked. But the moment you look away... the moment you glance at something else... the moment you blink... they are fast. If they catch you, they send you back in time and feed off of the potential future you’ll never have.”
The man nodded.
“Oh.” He pointed out, “Okay. That makes sense.”
Kanya fumbled with her sub-sonic-socket-wrench before frowning in disappointment.
“Oh, no.” She realized.
“What?!” The companion asked, “What is it?!”
“We’re here too early, Kelvin.” Kanya explained.
She pointed back and Kelvin could suddenly hear voices. Their voices.
“This has already happened.” The Time Lady explained, “We have to get back to our proper time.”
Kelvin grasped the hand of his new friend and ran forward only to be cut off by a Weeping Angel blocking their path.
