My DWAITAS specific website resource is nearing completion. www.matrix.curufea.comIt's my intention to archive (or better yet, have other people archive) anything useful to the RPG there so it is easily findable, cross-referenced and read. I don't intend on taking traffic away from the forum - forums serve as the best possible area to discuss roleplaying ideas. I figure the workflow will be - posting characters and things here, some discussion, some changes, then the original author thinks it's fiddled with enough and puts it on The Matrix so other GMs can find it after it has slipped off the forum page over time. Legal disclaimer thing - it's by a fan for fans, and if C7 or any other license holder wishes to host a similar site - or better yet, use the same CMS, I'll be happy to hand it over - it just means that I won't be doing free moderation and hosting of it Any information from the published books must be minimal - and where possible refer to page numbers in the books (ie I've entered all the traits but the descriptions are references) Anyhow, if anyone has ideas on website design, a creative bent or complaints, I'm open to suggestions, criticism and any free translations of the hodge-podge that is Drupal CSS use. I'm currently thinking of using the gear wall from Invasion of Time as a basis for backgrounds and things - but that's because I'm a steampunk fan. It will have to wait until I find a copy of the DVD though (don't want the box set as I've already got some of the Sontaran eps). Entering characters needs styling. The main problem currently is the list of character traits you can choose from - it shows all of them. I've not yet been able to output them in a nicely printable format yet either. If you do not want to create an account, there is a test/test account availble to have a look at the site with.

This is really cool! Could there be a printable version of the character once entered? I see how you can go 'next', 'next', but if there was an output that was printable, that would be awesome!
If you can get PDF outputs for things like campaign seeds, etc, then you could use this site to automate some of the collecting of campaign and story seeds, etc. Would be a very useful tool.
Thanks for the great work!

It is something I'd like to put in - I've not done any work on it for a while, however - having been captured by other projects

Slight change as I was getting some webcrawlers creating user accounts- Registration (and emailling members) now requires you to fill out a reCaptcha question. reCaptcha is like Captcha but gives useful results to the project recaptcha.net/learnmore.html

It's "printer friendly view" and "PDF" that most needs work done on it.
I'm a bit annoyed with traits as well - It's workable - anyone can create traits and then they can create characters that use any of the traits anyone has made. My problem with it is that it presents as a huge list of all traits - I need to work out a way to break it down into smaller more user friendly lists of traits.

Kewl, well - would it be okay to make the program code public for the sentient species random creator in an RPG magazine? It's equivalent to giving away a summarised version of the tables that could only be read by programmers.

I'm having difficulty with the Password Reset command. I'm not seeing the email with further instructions in my email inbox or junk mail.
EDIT: Oh, there it is. It seemed to just be moving very slowly.

I think the planet generator slows things down on the page because of the images - I'll have to make them optional.

Doesn't matter anymore, I've let him have a version that isn't rules-specific and shouldn't impinge on any IP. You can see it here- www.scribd.com/doc/34033699/Generic-Random-Species-Generator-PHP

I've had a bit of a spam attack, so currently deleting content that has nothing to do with new gadgets, traits or adventure ideas. Soon have the database back to it's searchable, updatable self.

As this is a Drupal site, I'd recommed the Recaptcha module. Killed all spam stone dead on every site I've installed it so far.

Do you see this site as DWAITAS only or do you think see other game data hosted here- I'm talking about games that are/will be compatible with DWAITAS- like Primeval and Pulp Fantastique, etc. ?

As there may be some crossovere (Doctor Who being a multi-genre format) I'd be fine with it, as long as not too much excessive configuration was needed As is I've got content types for characters, traits, gadgets and plots - which is likely all you need. I have not as yet had anyone contribute to it other than myself, so any chance of garnering enough interest in folk to actually turn it into a good reference site is a great idea to me.

Just a reminder that you can store characters, traits and gadgets on the Matrix database. I'm just wanting to see something other than spam users added to it

I've just cleaned up the matrix a bit (sorry if I've accidentally deleted a comment) from various spam attacks. I've closed the user registrations now as that'show they kept getting in. If you want an account so you can add content, let me know and I'll create one for you

Finally got around to fixing up the images for the random planet generator - was still referencing the old wiki I was using for my main website. www.matrix.curufea.com/node/326/

It's been a few years (10 apparently) - was off the internet for a while. My webhoster was mandating all my sites be upgraded to using the latest version of PHP which broke the Drupal instance I was using for the Matrix website. So I've replaced it with my standard favourite - a dokuwiki website. Currently it only has two pages - the random sentient species generator and the random planet generator. They're not pretty - just the same code as last time, but at least they're now accessible again. www.matrix.curufea.com/doku.php?id=generators
