This one isn't mine I was watching cinema sins commentary on the paddington movie and he gave it a sin because 'between capaldi and the earlier matt lucas sighting I'm begining to think this is an episode of doctor who and the bears are aliens . . ." which could be quite interesting. The 13th doctor looking in on an old friend Pastuzzo who has died and as a favour is checking up on his nephew and ensuring he winds up happy in London. All sorts of background actions to get everyone in the right place at the right time for the browns to adopt paddington, montgomeries daughter to be stopped, maybe even have some of her 'private collection' be aliens rather than animals. It could work I think.

That has potential. Maybe equip Paddington with a shimmer or similar device? The Whoniverse doesn't have that many intelligent animals.

Well that's the interesting thing about the movie depending on the situation/person you have people either just accepting Paddington or reacting with fear/shock. So it really fits in with new who where you have some people who'll go "Talking bear ahhhh", some who'll go "Alien yeek" and some who'll go "Oh the bear talked . . . must be an alien . . . its not killing anyone what was I doing before I was distracted." Since in new who we've got so many who just wouldn't care as long as he's harmless. Paddington could be the first official alien/human co-existence in new who history.
It would also explain some odd humour moments in the movie like why an entire female cleaners outfit is left in a convenient location for Mr Brown to disguise himself at the explorers club.
