Looking at my bookshelf now it is hard to remember five or so years ago when very little was coming out for the game. I guess there is not much else they need to do apart from series updates.

And there was much rejoicing! But "Not much else"? We've had Silurian Age, Paternoster, Creatures volume 1, UNIT, GM's guide... Reckon we could stand dedicated sourcebooks to Daleks, Cybermen, the human empire over the millennia, along with Creatures volume 2 (and 3, and 4...)

That's great to hear! Looking forward to seeing The Twelfth Doctor sourcebook! I imagine when Jodie Whittaker decides to end her tenure as The Doctor we'll see a Thirteenth Doctor sourcebook.

Was in my FGS today (it's like an FLGS but it's definitely not local) chatting about the Who RPG. In one of those friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend-of-a-sister's-chiropodist type situations, he'd heard that All the Strange, Strange Creatures Volume 2 was imminent. So that was nice.

That's good to hear! I wonder which monsters will be included this time around? Most of the big bads were covered in volume 1. The Ice Warriors would be good, but hopefully some of the less prominent creatures with potential to be expanded on.

BRING BACK THE DOMINATORS!!! Seconded! And may I put a vote in for the Krotons? The Krotons do have the advantage of being sufficiently enigmatic that a GM could turn them into almost anything. The Dominators are a more straightforward conqueror species, or so it seems.
Niklas Jansson has some good ideas for them both (and a variant Whoniverse) over at his Doctor Who redesign project.

I asked Alistaire Stuart and he said that a new rulebook for the 13th Doctor is extremely likely I do hope so. I'm just looking forward to anything at this stage and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Still I'd love to see it when it comes out

I asked Alistaire Stuart and he said that a new rulebook for the 13th Doctor is extremely likely Groovy. I hope they'll incorporate the errata we've already collated for the Capaldi rulebook. It's so close to perfect ...

I recently listen to MUP's Episode 183 Podcast – featuring Chris Spivey where Chris mentioned (about halfway in the podcast) that he recently contributed to some source material for Cubicle 7's Doctor Who. Not much on specifics, however, he suggests that it is source material and not an adventure. Later in the podcast they get into some Cthulhu Mythos/Hounds of Tindalos where they tie in a little Doctor Who.
Excited that Chris Spivey has written something for the Doctor Who RPG and looking forward to any updates/release!
Cheers,

Interesting. I wonder what it is... A revised and updated edition of the core rulebook that Cubicle 7 mentioned a while ago? A second volume of All the Strange Strange Creatures? Or something else entirely?

So now that C7 is no longer in the Middle-Earth business, I wonder if we'll see more DW releases? My predictions and/or hopes: An updated corebook featuring each new Doctor and a sourcebook for each recently-departed Doctor. I expect these are just part of their licensing agreement. I also saw the rumor about a "2nd edition" ruleset; I don't particularly want or need it, but if it were rolled into this, I'd probably buy it anyway ... At least one more volume of ALL THE STRANGE, STRANGE CREATURES and ALL OF TIME AND SPACE, if only because having books on my shelf that say "volume 1" without at least another volume makes me twitch ... A GM screen?! I swear they keep promising one. I'd even take it just as a PDF, so I could print it out as inserts for a generic screen. After that, maybe just books dedicated to particular monsters and/or eras, something like THE SILURIAN AGE. I'd love one for the Cybermen myself, and I'm sure a Dalek book would sell like crazy. Other than that, I don't even see needing or wanting much, as long as the line doesn't die entirely. It's such a good game, and there's already more material than I could ever use ...

I wouldn't count on them directing more effort toward Doctor Who. I expect them to spend more time with Warhammer.

I'd like them to bring out more adventures, as well as sourcebooks focusing on some of the major enemies - like the Daleks, Cybermen, and Sontarans. I'd also love it if they could convert the Fasa adventures (I know that's unlikely though).

I'd also love it if they could convert the Fasa adventures (I know that's unlikely though). As you say, unlikely given the copyright issues involved. However there are copies of the scenarios floating around, so a GM could run them easily enough, adjusting for a post-Time War setting if desired. Actually if I have some time I might put together some notes on running them.

The loss of the Middle Earth licence presumably leaves a bit of a hole in Cubicle 7's financial forecasts and, as the Doctor Who RPG was their clear best seller up to a couple of years ago (outselling even The One Ring), they could look to it to fill the gap. At this stage, I think it would need to be relaunched, whether with a rebranded core rulebook or the oft-hinted version 2. A volume 2 of All of Time and Space was mentioned to be in the works a while ago, so I suspect that's still on the cards. And another volume in the All the Strange, Strange Creatures series would be welcome.

I hope that there will be more books coming out for this system, it would be a shame to see the game die. Is there any more news recently?

I'm not sure I have ever understood why "not producing additional books" equals a game dying. If you have the game, you play it. What's important is that it stays in print, not that there is a nonstop stream of new things to buy. (With Cubicle 7's recent track record, I do worry about whether it will stay in print.)
