BACKGROUND
Born in Connecticut, on April 4, 1906; the daughter of a well-known ornithologist and his wife. She spent her weekends in New York, visiting speak-easies and associating with bootleggers. At this point she went by the nick-name, Molly (borrowed from the film, Molly-O; starring Mabel Normand). At he age of 18, she was diagnosed with Tuberculosis. Her father sent her to college in Colorado, for the sake of her health. She moved, from there, to the University of Oklahoma, where she acquired a teaching licence.
In the late 1920s, she moved to north Texas. Here she took a job, teaching at a Catholic school. She also married a man who went by the name "Joe Woodburn". A Jazz musician, Joe was also a gay man. Molly married him to help him keep his career intact. In the early 1930s, Molly and Joe witnessed what appeared to be a murder, by a very respectable member of the local community during a Baseball game.
Even tough Molly told the local law about it, no charges were ever brought.
With the help of a Timelord called Prof. Aberlard Gan; Joe and Molly discovered that these "pillars of the community" were, in fact, aliens from the Andromeda galaxy who had the ability to change their shape. They subsisted by feeding on the "life essence" of humans. At Gan's insistence, the Longbow organisation made Molly an agent. And, with the help of Longbow, Molly and her entourage of friends that included a Silurian engineer were able to rescue several people destined for the aliens' distillation chambers.
But, she was never able to fully stop this alien invasion. Molly was later killed, in 1953, by one of the aliens.
PERSONALITY
Molly was a gadabout. She always longed for her life in New York; even after she found a new life helping Longbow, and later UNIT's American branch. She was always very curiously, and playful. One would never know what she was going to do next. Admittedly a bit odd, but that was part of her charm. She always spoke with a thick Mid Atlantic accent - the kind of accent you hear in old movies of the period. And she picked that up at a New England finishing school. She loved Chinese food, she never drank alcohol, and after she was diagnosed from tuberculosis, she never touched a cigarette again. She never drive a car, and after an incident in 1940, she was desperately afraid of riding in a taxi cab.
PERSONAL GOAL
To stop the aliens, called the Ot'urt, and their leader called Thanezush from causing as much death and destruction as they desired. To help Longbow and later UNIT, in this effort. To someday see New York again. To make amends with her eccentric mother. And to see her relationship with her lover, Helen Neely, through to the end.
