I am planning on running a Weeping Angels themed Christmas adventure and I am wondering if anyone has ran an adventure with the Angels as the main villain, and if you have any advice. They inherently seem problematic in an RPG setting (much like The Silents). So, I am basically looking for general advice on running the Angels. I have read all the write ups for the Angel adventures and re-watched the episodes to get inspiration.
The basic plot of mine is.
We are a Time Lord with companions and a TARDIS group.
----Hopefully none of my players are here (I don't think they are on these forums)----
In 2020, The Angels have taken over the catacombs underneath a church in Indianapolis, IN. They have infected some of the leadership and are controlling them and forcing them to feed the members of the church to them. To cover this up the church leadership is preaching that The Rapture is currently happening. Anyone who is skeptical of the cover story is immediately sent back in time.
I plan on having them meet certain members and then getting notes from them later dated decades before etc.
Thanks in advance.

I think it's a fine premise for an adventure. What is it about the Weeping Angels you need help with?

Hmm, my first thought is; would a relatively modern US church (the oldest church still in use in Indianapolis is <160 years) have catacombs? But then I'm a serial nitpicker....
ETA: I've just checked my General Notes file (I though that Indianapolis and catacombs rang a faint bell ) and listed there are the Indianapolis Catacombs. These are around 2,000m2 of underground passageways constructed under the old Indianapolis City Market back in the 1880s. Curiously the reason for their construction is unknown though it's believed they were mainly used as a cool store for the markets (though the layout is a bit strange for that). They're mostly under the northeast junction of Market and Delaware streets. The passages and walkways include brick archways and limestone columns that were part of Tomlinson Hall, a public auditorium building destroyed by fire in the 1950s.
Hmm, that gives me a couple of ideas; maybe the Angels caused the catacombs to be constructed by sending agents back in time? And that building fire would be an interesting event for a time displaced PC to experience up close.
On the subject of the Weeping Angels one idea that I've listed for consideration in my notes is the effects of a group of them in proximity. Given their ability to displace people in time and feed off temporal energies might a nest of them cause weird effects in proximity? People displaced through time (temporarily or permanently), people experiencing mental or physical flashbacks (for flashforwards), abnormal flows of time. Or more subtle quantum weirdness, runs of bad/good luck, odd coincidences et cetera. Basically a reason to loot Sapphire and Steel, Lucky Man and the DS9 episode 'Rivals' for ideas.
Also might the Angels be attracted to fissures and rifts in time?

Some of this potential "bad luck" might just be Angel interference. Though changing people's time perception might be a fun trick. They think they've only been in a room for a minute and it's been hours.
Also, I'd say recent televised events suggest the Angels would be drawn to time rifts.

Though it seems new for them.

If they can feed off of the temporal energy of a time rift (and other technobabble), then sure they'd be drawn to one. They were drawn to the cracks in reality...
Normally they have to make due with zapping a person back in time and feeding off the potential energy of the life they might have lived (whatever that means). Time rifts and cracks in reality obviously have much more power. Kinda surprising Cardiff hasn't been openly attacked by Weeping Angels.

I specifically chose that church because there are catacombs beneath it. they are all under that area downtown supposedly. I have never been in them but they do offer tours. Ahh, I missed the part of your post talking about the catacombs. I am re-purposing them as a burial area and not just tunnels. Though, I really like the part where the Angels actually facilitated the construction of the catacombs. I might have to work that in. Thanks.

Hey, there's no need to stick to closely to reality if it doesn't suit the game. Maybe the catacombs and underground parts of the church weren't there at the beginning but, once the Angels have dispatched agents back in time, were "always there" later on, with characters memories altering to accommodate this change.
