Bob Baker, the Doctor Who scriptwriter and creator of K9 has managed to find support for a big-budget featuring the robotic dog. From the press release: So, what're peoples' opinions on this? Third-time-lucky? Or another spin-off disaster?

I really think K9 is too much of a novelty to ever be a good lead character. He was good in Doctor Who because it was fun to see The Doctor work alongside a really shitty looking robot dog who can somehow outsmart him. As a character though he has absolutely no depth.

I'll probably give it a go. But if it's anything like the K9 TV series, I'm not too optimistic about it.
