I'm working on an adventure idea and it involves our favorite giant green phallic folk, and I had some questions about them that the wiki didn't really answer.
They are described as hermaphroditic, and "when the time is right" they choose to have offspring. I was just wondering if that implied their reproduction was completely asexual with them simply becoming pregnant at a certain point in their life cycle, or if the process was sexual in nature and they did in fact require a partner to reproduce.
The main thing is my story involves three Centaurans, one of which was the offspring of another. I was just trying to determine how to define all of their relationships.

An interesting question. Given that they're stated to be hermaphrodites I'd say that they have both (or all, no need to limit yourself to two genders) sets of sex organs and periodically have a 'mating season' which triggers the desire to reproduce. Quite possibly both participants are impregnated.

Along that thinking I would assume it's more of a role switching thing. One of the partners becomes fertile and will bear offspring while the other is just a genetic donor.
