This may be an incredibly stupid question, but here goes:
Is the Doctor Who Card Game from Cubicle 7 mechanically compatible in any way with Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space. I know next to nothing about the card game.
The reason I ask is because certain RPG systems (I'm thinking of Savage Worlds, for instance) have card decks that are not innate parts of the system, but can be used to optionally supplement the game with additional effects. For example, with Savage Worlds, players can select cards from an Action Deck, and play the card for some sort of in-game benefit (much like cashing in Story Points in DWAITAS). Consequently, if you get a card that says "Saved in the nick of time", you can play it to get a character out of a bad situation, etc...
Do the cards from the Card Game have any similar possible application, or is the card game a whole other animal?
I know this may seem redundant, since Story Points essentially serve the function, but I like the idea of a player being assigned a specific in-game effect and having to find the best way to employ it given the circumstances. It also may come in useful for situations when there is a dearth of Story Points. Just curious.
Thanks for any feedback...
