This probably isn't going to be my campaign, but here's an idea I just came up with on allgeektout.com:
When Martha Jones came back during the 2008 Dalek Invasion of Earth, UNIT thought they had got Project Indigo working.
They were wrong.
Turns out the little extra bit that they needed to get the navigation to work was Artron energy, which Martha had picked up during her year traveling in the TARDIS. So when they sent a squad of their soldiers to test out the device, they didn’t have the control over where it was headed that they thought they did.
Now, they’re stuck out in space on Clom, Barcelona, wherever the Sontaran technology feels like taking them. And in addition to trying to find a way back home, they’ve also got to deal with any old enemies who try to attack them – and when it comes to UNIT, there are many.
UNIT… IN SPAAAAAACCCCEEEE! I know the "stranded in space" idea is a bit of a cliché, but I got the idea and I had to write it down.
Also, yes, I know that it's technically the 2009 Dalek Invasion, but I like to believe that the series started out in 2004 and when Rose ended up a year ahead of her timeline, then it synced up with reality. Less confusing for me dating things.
Anyway, if you like it, I'd appreciate it if you either comment here, or on my blog:

Thanks! Now I'm going to start putting together some episode ideas, and maybe put them together in a short PDF for allgeektout.
* One where they're transported into space with no air, and quickly find a spaceship to hitchhike on. Haven't decided if it's abandoned or not. This idea is not stolen from Hitchhiker's Guide, why would you say such a thing?
* The team ends up on a planet where they're greeted with great pomp and ceremony - but it soon turns out that they are on a planet where anyone from another planet is hunted for sport.
* Naturally, there will have to be an episode with Sontarans - and they aren't happy that the team has stolen their technology.
Any similarity to other stories (besides the Hitchhiker's Thing I mentioned) is completely coincidental.
Although I still have to find a planet of aliens that UNIT pissed off enough to want revenge.
"There's an old earth saying, captain, a phrase of great power, and wisdom, and consolation to the soul in times of need. ALLONS-Y!"
I am stealing this idea.. Its simple a great idea that will complete sidestep 2 of my players whining about playing a Timelord. Heck it even allows for someone to be of alien origin if thats their fancy.
That could be fun but you would need to give the UNIT team some sort of 'babblefish' level translator. A malfunctioning 'superphone' would be fun so they could occasionally contact UNIT HQ for information and broadcast warnings back to Earth.
Justice knows no time limit, no spacial boundries.
