Wow. This looks great. William Hartnell can never be replaced, but finding someone else to play the First Doctor is fine by me if they do a really, really good job of it. And we know that this actor has talent. And those TARDIS sets...! Fantastic!

Now we need someone to do the other two doctors Not sure quite how far into the history of the series this docudrama will go, but Reece Shearsmith has been cast as Patrick Troughton.

I'm hoping that somehow, they will use the sets and actors in the 50th...

Yes, it's worth remembering that these actors are playing the actors that played the characters in a drama about making Doctor Who. So David Bradley is playing William Hartnell, he is not playing the 1Doctor.
.......as far as we know.
Unlikely, but not impossible. Because that would be a cool bit of stealth/double casting, wouldn't it?

And apparently we can add Dodo to the cast, played by Sophie Holt.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they sneakily remake an entire lost serial as well.

I would love to watch Power of the Daleks, for example. Dodo, however? I'm really sorry to say this, but possibly one of the most boring companions ever, even for her time period which features some very cardboard companions. Can we not have Victoria "No, Jamie" Waterfield? She was great!

Oh, I do hope there's some double-bluff going on here. "Us? We're making a documentary about Dr Who. Not shooting lost episodes at all! Nothing to see here, move along..."

Oh, I don't doubt they are making a docudrama on the early history of the show. But it is nice to know that they have A.) have found actors who could serve as stand ins for the first two Doctors and B.) have at least partially rebuilt the original TARDIS set. You know Moffat probably has plans for all of this whether it shows up in this year's show or not.

If Moffat ever decided he wanted to run the country, I think we should be scared! That man has plans for everything!
