Just a heads-up: the game is fully compatible with the Doctor Who Roleplaying Game. Uses same ruleset, stats etc. I'm mentioning it here because it's effectively DWAITAS twin game. Even if you don't like Primeval, I'd dare to say that this is a great add-on for DWAITAS in regards to creating and running more combat-oriented campaigns like Torchwood or UNIT. I also thought this would be perfect to run any kind of survival type game against monsters (Resident Evil anyone?) Just off the first skimming: Changes: Turn order is not based on talkers going first but on how fast the creature/ characters are. Rules for: -Massive (and tiny) beasts. Writeups for lots of creatures. -Expanded strength rules (benchmarks for flipping over cars, etc.) -Equipment, weapons. Plenty of grenades and guns, etc. -Rules for creating bases (bases have traits and generate story points) -Creature traits -New Good & Bad Traits for humans -Rules for running conspiracies (conspiracies have traits) -Time Travel, anomalies -Detailed Earth Prehistory info (atmospherics, temperature etc.) rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/103616/Primeval-RPG-Core-Rulebook?src=FrontPage

Here's a preview of the new 'Hobby' trait.
HOBBY (Minor Good Trait)
You’ve got a hobby or interest in a particular field.
Effect: This Trait gives you an Area of Expertise without having three points in that Skill. For example, a character with Science 1 but the hobby ‘Dinosaur Geek’ would have an effective Science of 3 (1+2) when rolling to identify a dinosaur. You can only take Areas of Expertise related to Athletics, Craft, Knowledge, Science, Technology or Transport as hobbies.

I've got my copy. I'm not a fan of the TV series, but there's plenty of useful stuff for DWAITAS in here - new traits, vehicles and equipment, and not forgetting dino stats!
I also like the new skill, Animal Handling - particularly as this is one I'm already using in my games.

I can see the Base rules coming in really handy for Torchwood-style play...
